Meet the cast

Should be interesting. Retired NFL and former LSU player Danny McCray competes for season 41.

Who else is ready

quote:

The new season reportedly wrapped up filming in May 2021 after only 26 days (instead of the normal 39 days). For the first time ever, the title will not have a subtitle — instead it will officially be called “Survivor 41.” Probst later hinted that this season will be more “dangerous” than usual. CBS has confirmed it will debut on September 22 in its normal Wednesdays-at-8pm time slot.

Not much more info on any differences or twists this season.

Definitely ready.

Glad they went away from a forced theme.

The country required 14 days of Covid quarantine and production time wasn't extended in country to account for the extra 14 days. And Probst has hinted that the 26 days may be a permanent thing going forward. Using Covid as a cover to cut budgets?

Pretty weak in the way of eye candy.

quote:

MIT grad Sara Wilson is ready to see if her book smarts can translate to Survivor smarts. Inspired by the women who came before her, she’s looking to keep her pedigree hidden while seeking out unexpected allies. And that combination will hopefully make the former long-distance swimmer go the distance in this game.

quote:

Sydney Segal idolizes Rocky Balboa, so it’s safe to say she’ll be running up the stairs to the voting booth in an epic fashion. But the 26-year-old prides herself on being less of a fighter and more of a “wild” person. Believing that alliances and loyalty are fleeting in Survivor, can the law student make a case for herself to be the sole survivor?

If you look at the cast, there is a definite "Theme".

I don't really know if they are going for their target audience.

Yeah, they made it a point to be 50% "diverse" at least.

That isn't necessarily a bad thing... the season early on where they went for white/black/asian/latino tribes was one of the better seasons. Just have to see how it plays out and if the diversity is beaten over our heads.

I hope they don't do this. The current format is fine.

What is it?

Cool to have a former LSU player on it.

Diversity,

People seem to forget that they have done this before, and it was one of the better seasons.

Alone has a shitload of boring episodes though. Usually the first couple episodes are real good, then it is a slog until the last couple.

They think because the cast is more diverse, CBS is trying to force a minority winner.

Right.

We've already had a gay man, old woman, black woman, hot woman, asian man, asian woman, black man, latina woman, old man... it's not like the winners of Survivor haven't been diverse already.

Holy frick. Jeff just had to ask permission to use the phrase "come on guys". CBS is so fricking lame

And the only person who spoke up was the queer woman who said of course say "come on guys," because that's the trademark phrase.

The people who would truly be offended by such a saying are the vast, very small minority and why do we have to cater to them? Guess CBS will be woke.

I wonder if that was Jeff's idea or some other producer
