I admit I AM 100%, as you suspect "just irrationally mad" about the "guys" thing. That is so silly and childish to even bring up. People use that phrase all over earth with no ill meaning.

Perhaps the winners draft a new team?

Then they shite on it by giving a chance to be stolen.
Brutal advantage to go through with no vote(luckily mitigated by only one tribal for Xander)
I couldn’t believe Xander had to go through that. Just no vote until someone HOPEFULLY finds TWO! More idol pieces? Like holy shite man just send the guy home already. It’s a miracle he made it through that.
And yeah first thing i thought, that chick is totally stealing it.
Also, Shan going on and on about the “advantage that she did the ground work too win” when she’s straight up stolen two advantages from other players now. Shan is playing a diiiiiiiirty game and it’s pretty shitty. I can’t believe RIcard and Geannie didn’t at least make her play the idol and flush it out.

I think she is being set up to be the metaphorical dragon that the actual winner has to slay.
This is interesting. It might not happen in the finals but Shan and her new best buddy who made a connection based on race could be the dragon and the dragon slayer.

I have to agree. From what it looks like, they aren't merging. Possibly switching up tribes?
I'm thinking they either shuffle to 3 tribes of 4 and merge late (like 9 as they use to). Or they all move to the same beach but remain 3 tribes.

I absolutely HATE this advantage/twist in the game.

I def think Ricard and Shan go for each other's throat sooner rather than later.

I am surprised Shan didn't take the opportunity to do it earlier at either the JD vote or the Geanie vote. If I was Shan it would make more sense to have kept JD following me around like a puppy, rather than Ricard.

I feel like I missed something along the way because Shan told Liliana that Ricard was her #1, but also that he couldn't be trusted. It seemed like they were working together up until this week's episode, even though they still voted together. Really weird dynamics in that relationship that I'm missing some context on.
Shan's efforts to get her extra vote back from him were stupid. You just planned the same move the week before to get JD out, and thought Ricard would go for that? Ricard should have gone to Jeannie and tried to blind side Shan over that, but he likely saw the risk in that with her having an immunity idol.

Shan told Liana that IF she was voted out, then it meant Ricard couldn't be trusted.
The whole situation with the advantage that Ricard was holding and Shan wanted back was weird. It was definitely as though they were still going to work together, but also knew that the other one was going to go for the backstab as soon as possible.
It reminds me a lot of Wendell and Dom in Ghost Island. They were friends, they worked together, but also spent half the time trying to blindside each other, and they both knew it.

Ah, that makes more sense. Definitely missed that caveat in their conversation.
And Shan's gameplay the past few weeks makes a whole lot more sense now knowing her background, particularly being in a gang.

Bumping for tonight. Will this season become a repeat of Big Brother?
Posted on 10/27/21 at 8:30 pm to Evil Little Thing
Looks like it. Iam so sick of this shite and cbs.

POC alliance, Nassir and Erika don’t count.

Here we go again. Ugg

I love the hypocrissy of this. POC coming together because they all have the same skin color is uplifting but if the white players made a white alliance for the same reason it would be racist...

The episode was crap and even not considering the POC alliance. Shan not sincere with that anyway; it may turn into a thing but only because it will benefit Shan.

I literally clicked in this thread and came to the last page to ask if this season has gotten better and worth watching, since I didn’t even start the season after reading about the “guys” bullshite on the first few pages.
Y’all answered that, I’m definitely still out. I have never missed an episode since season 1 until now.
Haven’t even missed it. Congrats CBS

I think the “For Skin”/“Four Skin” alliance will make it far. Danny will dominate individual challenges and will be eliminated first. Deshawn will get to the finals on the girls’ coattails and will come in third. Liana and Shan will compete for jury votes. Shan has the better story - turned around a bad life and survived in her clan.
Deshawn is a med school student. Danny got a scholarship and NFL money. Liana is a college student who spent time growing up in the Far East and appears to be studying to be a ballet dancer. Shan had a white mother who was there for her when she turned her life around - no mention of where Dad was. If these 4 people represent a targeted minority held back by systemic racism, we truly have no racial issues in this country.
Liana had this quote in her bio:
quote:
Why do you believe you can win Survivor? I believe I can be the final Survivor because too often, women of color are overlooked and undervalued. Whether that's in my business classes dominated by white men who feel entitled to the space they take up or in future workplaces, it is women of color who have nurtured and cared for others throughout history. If there was ever a person who was strong enough mentally, physically and emotionally to take on a game full of odds – a woman of color, a woman like me and the women I come from would be the one to do it.
