Pretty it was Lois that mentioned that Borovaia was allied to the US which is why Supes decided to step in when the US wouldn't. Makes me think it was very much supposed to be Israel/Palestine although it could be a fusion of the two conflicts

Too slow and Superman would be able to hear it.
Superman also didn't hear the chick talking into her mic as he was flying away from the fortress in the opening scene. I guess this Supes doesn't have super hearing.

I saw it over the weekend. I liked it enough to recommend it even if I didn't think it was amazing.
Hackman had the better character but no one has ever been more of a physical fit than Hoult. Mr Terrific is not a character that I knew but he was very entertaining. I also wasn't familiar with the cyborg character allied with Lex but she was good.
The most divisive things from my perspective were probably how much Krypto was featured and possibly how dumb they made Superman.
I expect a big reveal at some point with the real unaltered message from his parents but dunno if that's going to happen or a red flag for more subversion in the future.
Anyway it should be a big hit for families and especially kids under 10. I may dislike the superdog stuff but kids were giggling and happy for the yuck yuck silly humor and that's a virtue for the youngest demographic that they want to reach

Yep and that was also weird to me. Gunn admitting he was going to nerf Superman and make him beatable which doesn’t make any sense when you have Ultraman as his physical opponent.

He is fighting himself though, so it’s not that he’s really weak or underpowered. But not as bad arse as Cavill for sure
Yeah, I suppose the potential is there but he always seemed to be holding back except at the end.

Just because he has super hearing doesn't mean he always hears everything, does it? That'd drive him crazy. I thought he only had super hearing when he was specifically listening or heard certain "trigger words" like "help" or "Fire" or whatever, if that makes sense.
Otherwise, he'd hear every heartbeat, every breath, every footstep of everyone and everything all the time.

He can adjust the sensitivity of his hearing.

Exactly, so he didn't hear the Engineer at the fortress because he wasn't trying to. He didn't know she was even there. And he was hurt. Not that he didn't have super hearing.

He can adjust the sensitivity, but if he has super hearing it wouldn't make sense for him not to hear the chick at the beginning of the film. He wouldn't need to adjust his hearing to a level that he couldn't hear her.

Again these arguments are nonsensical since the creator of the movie told us he was going to do this. I’m sure it’ll change and he’ll grow stronger as the universe evolves but besides the Kaju he lost every fight which was very strange for Superman.

I must have watched a different movie. I saw The Engineer, Ultraman, and a slew of raptor henchmen knocked out.

That isn’t true. He had the engineer pinned on the ground and showed her mercy. the only reason they were able to get him was insanely advanced technology which he smashed to pieces from orbit, plus his clone. And once the clone didn’t have Lex inputting the moves he got wrecked
He handled the space suit people (forget their names) with ease also

And pushed himself out of a freakin' blackhole with super breath.

Krypto had to save him

Are you suggesting that Superman was incapable of destroying tiny drones himself?

Do you always do this obtuse schtick?

I've tried interacting with you, but this is the 2nd time you've made it personal. I'll leave you alone from now on.

Cavill is a man. Corenswet is a boy. Or young man. That’s my take on it. Cavill fit Snyder Superman. Corenswet fits Gunn Superman. Both are perfect for their roles and wouldn’t work in reverse. Even young Cavill wouldn’t work in Gunnverse. He’s too stoic IMO.
