I would rather watch BvS or SS over the past 15 AA best picture winners, and I know that the great majority of folks feel the same way I do.

I said this yesterday, and I would like to apologize to the board.

I watched Spotlight and The Big Short yesterday afternoon/evening, and they were both so much better than BvS and SS that one would be hesitant to hold them up next to each other and even compare them as similar mediums.

I gave it the benefit of the doubt and checked it out.

After the first hour or so, it wasn't bad. It wasn't good, but it wasn't 26% on RT bad. And then the last hour came. And it was just a flat out jumbled mess. It was like there was a 30 minute beginning and then and hour and a half ending. Such a weird second half of a movie

The guy who played Flagg was awful. The rest of the cast was pretty spot on, except for Leto.

For the most part it seemed like he was just being weird. There were some good joker moments. But it seemed like he was just taking the weirdness from Joker and nothing else. I mean he didn't crack any jokes, it's the Joker. I wanted to like him I really did, but he was just weird.

Just watched it last night. Not bad at all.

Jared Leto's joker was ok. Harley Quinn was amazing. Will Smith was good.

Pulled the trigger last night....what a piece of shite. Yet again DC suffers from terrible writing and terrible editing. Action and characters were bland at best, scenes that make no sense at all and could have been completely taken out,Joker was shoehorned in. The only good thing about this movie was the first 20 minutes and Will Smith. I can't figure out what was worse, batman vs superman or suicide squad.

I will assume no sarcasm.

It does kind of suck when you realize Tom Hardy was supposed to be Flagg and Joker was trying to kill Harley not save her in the original cut because he is batshit insane

Sounds much more interesting.

It would be cool if they just re-released Nolan's Batman trilogy on the big screen. Would make a lot of money, I'm sure. Almost zero overhead. #winning

Anyone surprised they showed a couple women getting absolutely rocked in the face by men?

And they weren't even superheroes. Just random bitches getting knocked into next week.

Oh I agree. I thought it was horrendous. But it's had a strong week so far, a hell of a lot better than I thought it would be doing. It's also dominating internationally, and there's still a chance it will open in China.

Faraci has been dead on about this movie from the beginning. With the reshoots and cuts to add more fun and the lack of drop off this week, he called it.

Variety is now projecting only 44 million this weekend, which would be a drop of 67%. Ouch.

Yeah, that's not good. I expect this movie to do between 500-600 mil, which would be about breaking even. Not good.

ETA: Maybe between 600-700 mil if they're lucky.

Man, what a jumbled mess.

Will Smith was good and Robbie was amazing. The Academy should give an award to the marketing team for the trailers. Those were 100% better than the movie.

On a side note, the Enchantress gave me the weirdest boner.

Finally saw the film last night. Not a perfect film- but far from the jumbled mess that the critics report.

Good points:

Deadshot, Harley, Waller, Boomerang were all on point and enjoyable. The bar scene before the final fight was particularly good for me.

Bad points: The tired "swirling machine", the villains footsoldiers, Incubus.

This was a ride- a rollercoaster and funhouse combined. I can once again see that it would be more enjoyable for fans of the comic books than the un-initiated or non-fans. Leto was the the least effective for me. Batman and Flash cameos were pretty much throwaway.

7/10

Nowhere deserving of the crap from the critics. With Batman v Superman- I understood and felt the disjointed editing, choppy story, and overserious tone. The setup was linear and cohesive. This was a pile on with people just licking their chops to destroy something. Perfect...no. Good...yes.

My only complaint about the bar scene is that they are all bone dry after spending an hour in the rain.
