My only complaint about the bar scene is that they are all bone dry after spending an hour in the rain.
It certainly looks like her make-up is running to me:

The bar scene made absolutely no sense to me and did nothing to enhance the story or the characters.

It really was where I wrote the movie off altogether.

I've seen people on this board say it was their favorite scene, and it's just so surprising to me. I'm not criticizing, just genuinely surprised.

Hey, no worries, bro.

The main reason why that scene was so popular is because it showed Diablo's origin. It was a very powerful scene (for many). It's not just on this board. A lot of people loved the character development in that scene. But to each his own, bud.

I liked El Diablo's story as well-but Harley really came through to me during their exchange. It was the time in the movie where a group of individuals became a team. I also enjoyed Deadshot and Flagg's exchange. It surprises me for anyone to say that scene in particular added nothing to character development.

I agree. I think a bulk of the development in the entire movie happened in that scene. Honestly, I was all in with the characters after that.

ETA: Also, apparently there's a longer cut of that scene. I hope we get to see it someday.

A damn near impossible movie to sit through. This was a disaster and yet we'll be told the director's cut is where the real film stands out.

Very disappointed.

I keep seeing this, and I just don't see it. He wasn't awesome or anything, but it wasn't cringe worthy acting. I've seen much worse.

Maybe I'm a little biased though; I thought he was great in The Killing

I thought he did a great job. Probably the best acting in the whole movie.

5 million yesterday, which is better than the second mondays of CW, BvS and Deadpool. I have to give this movie it's props, it's holding on really well despite all the negative reviews.

I think it'll drop out of #1 to War Dogs this weekend (since they've promoted that movie heavily). Probably down to #3 unless the world is as uninterested in that Ben Hur movie as I am.

It might limp into $600 to $650 Million total.

Just saw it. Wow. It wasn't a masterpiece, but the critic hate is surprising. It was pretty solid imo. Not great, but pretty good. Took a lot of the sting out of the disappointment that was BvS.

Edit: Killer Croc was terrible. Worst part of the movie

I have another issue (spoilerish)

Why did Waller's helicopter dive to almost street level and shoot off flares after leaving the building? Given the nature of the bad guy, the helicopter would have flown in the vertically as much as possible and then in the opposite directions (sans flares or running lights).

Did you actually listen to the dialogue? It's as if they took the guys who wrote scripts for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers back in the early 90's and asked him to do Suicide Squad. It was EXCRUCIATING.

quote:

We're bad guys, it's what we do.

quote:

Let's go save the world

quote:

Oh i'm not gonna kill ya, i'm just going to hurt ya. Really, really bad.

quote:

I want to build a team of some very dangerous people, who I think can do some good.

quote:

If they get caught, we throw 'em under the bus.

quote:

Don't forget: we're the bad guys.

quote:

Criminals deserve no mercy!

quote:

[Upon awakening her brother, The Incubus] Enchantress: Brother, I have freed you.
Incubus: Where are we?
Enchantress: The same World only much later.
Incubus: What happened?
Enchantress: The humans turned against us.
Incubus: But they worshipped us. We were gods to them. Enchantress: Now they worship machines, so I will build a machine that will destroy them all. Build your strength, feed on them, and wait for me to return. [Enchantress disappears]

I liked it a lot right after I saw it, but the longer I get away from seeing it, the less I like it.
