Yeah, they are going to have to something with Will because he's basically been irrelevant since season 2.
I always thought another one of the kids wpuoc somehow get Vecna/11 type powers to fight in the ultimate showdown at the end of Season 5, but I could also see Will basically being hypnotized by Vecna and turning on the kids.
It's obvious they are linked heavily.
Apparently the Duffer Bros. also said they are going to reveal much much much more about the origins and existence of the Upisde Down in S5, and that will be one of the main storylines.
I really wish they would split the season up into 3 or 4 3+hour movies and show them in theaters but I know that is probably an impossible ask.
Although they are doing something like that overseas with the new LOTR show, so it's not a completely crazy idea.

I hope will gets turned full evil some how. Would be great, imo.

Hope Will gets buttfricked by Vecna, since they want to show us that he's gay so badly.

I still can’t believe that Jon Quinn got to meet Metallica like that. So badass.
The music this season really took off and become a life on its own. Both songs “Running up a Hill” and “Master of puppets” reached number 1

Yeah, I think Will is going to make the choice though. He’ll be tempted with power, not knowing it’s Vecna/One and take it.
Also I think El will find a way to wake up Max.

Late to the party here, but I have to say I am quite stunned at the amount of love for Season 4. This thread is quite long, so I am curious how close my take is to what's been agreed upon and discussed in this thread.
I found this to be a mixed bag: when it was good, it was great; however, it got downright retarded a lot.
The Great:
- Vecna was well designed, and it's very cool how they tied everything for the entire series to him.
- Dustin and Eddie stole the screen every time they were on, and this season was worth it just to watch them.
- When the show focused on Hawkins is when it shined.
- The mise en scene was exceptional as it has always been, and I think it's the best aspect of the directing of the show
- El's regaining of powers were well done, and the history of her character was fleshed out nicely and in an engaging way
The average:
- Dialogue was entirely predictable, and the wife and I were literally quoting lines before they were ever spoken. That's a sign of cliche writing.
- Will/Mike/El scenes were boring and bland. They didn't really bring anything to she show, and those actors are not very good.
The terrible:
- Indian Pizza Dude.
- Every single moment surrounding Hopper and the ridiculous scheme to break him out of Russia. This was so far beyond ridiculous that it just about ruined the show for me. From the plane crash landing with no injuries to the killing of a creature with one bullet to the breaking IN to a Russian base to the breaking OUT of it and back to the breaking IN to it to the Hopper sword fighting and killing a demon creature that shreds every single human it comes across. Seriously, this was forced bullshite that is completely insulting to the intelligence of everyone watching. This is The Room and Troll 2 bad.
If it weren't for the Hopper nonsense, this season would rank as my second favorite one. Unfortunately that shite was so bad that I am not sure I am interested in watching S5. I'll have to see how I feel once time has passed and it is released. As long as Dustin is still involved there is a good chance I finish this out. He's fantastic.

I would say that most in here agree with you but probably didn't hate the Hopper scenes enough to not watch season 5. I thought all of the Russian parts were completely pointless, but I like all of those characters. So, I didn't mind it that much.

I guess I need to try to watch more. I watched 4.1 a few weeks and didn’t have a desire to keep going, mostly because I loathed every single moment Eddie was on the screen. He is the worst.

He is pretty lame in the school stuff in episode 1. He takes off from there.
Posted on 8/1/22 at 5:12 pm to DestrehanTiger
The Russia shite just seemed like time filler to slow the plot down a bit but make you feel like it had a purpose. Then you look back and realize it was just a huge waste of time

Now hold on just a minute. Are you telling me that a show introduced a brand new character in the the first episode of a new season and they didn't complete his full arc by the end of that episode?!?!?

No, the actor was so atrociously bad that it was painful to watch. It was way too over the top, like an archetype from the breakfast club.
I hated Steve at first like we were supposed to, but he was a great character from the beginning.

I don’t get the love either. It’s the second best season, but seasons 2 and 3 were mediocre. Half of this season gets a C and the other half gets an A.

I agree. I felt 2 was a dropoff from 1 and 3 was an average and flawed season. I liked the ending of it all, and I thought the series should've stayed complete. While I think how they continued the story is good, it still seemed unnecessary and like a cash grab.

Complete waste of time. Even worse it was intellectually vacant. I can move past a waste of time, but this was so beyond ridiculous it nearly ruins the season. It's that bad, and it's indefensible
