Finished the season last night.
I found 8 to be irrelevent but suspect it is a setup for season 3.
I could see a season where 11 and 8 help find "momma" and then ultimately fight over whether "poppa" should die

I know a lot of people didn’t like the Chicago episode, but I saw it to be an homage to The Empire Strikes Back. Chicago was Dagobah.
11 goes to Chicago to find someone she knows has the same gifts that she has. 8 trains her and her powers expand. Then, 11 hastily leaves against 8’s wishes to go save her friends.
The episode was also important because without the training 11 got in Chicago, she wouldn’t have been able to close the gate.

I savored the season and finished last night.
Pretty sure Brenner is/was powered now.
Going by 80s logic, trackers were a big thing in sci-fi and comics. Which would explain how he knew women with powers.
So Poppa might really have been poppa and 1-11 may all be half sisters.

That's an interesting comparison. When Eight is teaching Eleven to move the 18 wheeler I definitely thought of Luke trying to lift his X-Wing with Yoda.

After my post above, I googled and the creators have in fact said that the Chicago/Dagobah thing was intentional.

Who the hell can keep up with all the Easter eggs and homages? These guys might be the best nerds on the planet and I love em

Dustin cursing at him and Mr. Wheeler not knowing how to react was hilarious.

I finally finished the season. I thought it was incredibly entertaining. I was a kid in the 80's and when I watch this show I feel like a kid again. I enjoyed season 2 just as much as the first season. The actors and characters being portrayed are absolutely fantastic.

Him dropping the "are you shitting me?" line to the librarian was great too.

The way he talks to adults is kind of like if you rolled Chunk and Mouth from The Goonies into one character.
Dusty has no fricks to give for adults who are of little help.

That entire scene was golden.

Dustin and Steve are probably my two favorite characters now.

Steve is the man. I'm afraid he's going to eventually get himself killed trying to win Nancy back though.
I was pretty worried he was going to get himself killed in the finale trying to save the kids

The adventures of Dustin and Steve were absolutely the highlight of the season.

Perfectly said. I don't understand the hate for it. It was just an extra episode of pure awesomeness to me.

Also loved Dustin's immediate response during this:

For me the highlight was this beauty:
It's just such a well crafted joke. But the Adventures of Dustin and Steve is a close second.
