It’s like it went through the whole Ted Lasso life cycle in one season. Start with the actual sport to get people interested then devolve into a bunch of after-school specials about social topics.

And then he said it’s risky, then she stormed out. Then when when readdressed, she goes on a tirade about her education and life. Then he kisses her. Then he apologizes and says great idea.
I must've missed the part where they tried to show the pronoun chick/mom as being right and the straight guys being wrong.
Yeah, we are definitely watching different shows.

So you think storming out and risking all your money investing in helium is the "right" side?
I think storming out after you ask for someones opinion is childish and investing all your money in a single thing is risky.
Then later she explains the logical basis for her investment and he basically says ok well shes at least done some research and isnt just making a spur of the moment decision so thats not as bad.
Also they are 2 divorcees on a road trip of course they are gonna hook up at some point haha i wouldnt dig too deep into that meaning she won.

The show is stupid and seemingly written by a 5th grader. None of the characters have any depth to try to over analyze. Pryce, dead child, life spiral. Mitts, dead wife, life spiral. Santi, bad dad, angsty teen. Zero, absentee mom, bi curious, rebel teen. Elena, bad husband messed up her rightful life.
What’s not surprising is you championing this poorly written crap.

I agree so I don't understand why you keep comparing it to Hacks. This show is light, shallow, and formulaic.
You shouldnt expect it to be anything other than that.
If you like light, shallow, and formulaic, watch it. If you dont then find something else.
I wouldnt keep going to McDonald's every day and then complain when i dont get a Michelin stars worthy meal

However, I reserve the right to discuss actual movies and tv shows on the mtv board, and I’ve watched all 6 episodes of this show thus far, and it’s dumb. If the formula was to be annoyingly stupid and be neither dramatic nor funny, then it’s a resounding success.

It would fit the rest of the creators credits

Then I would suggest maybe try lowering your expectations some before watching the final 4 episodes.
The show doesnt annoy me at all because I dont expect it to be something it isnt. Of course you are allowed to review the show and complain but you seem to get angrier and angrier every episode.

Most of us that are disappointed is because the premise seemed decent and Apple TV is usually very high quality. So yes, after six episodes of a very poorly written show, some people aren’t as happy and content as you. We went in expecting something decently interesting and intelligent enough. Again, your take is not surprising considering the lack of basic logic.

Haha sacrilegious to even compare this to Ted Lasso

You forget who you're talking to. The guy does not allow you to have your own opinion of a show. Dislike or not care for a show and want to discuss some of your complaints? Nope. Not allowed. If a show is poorly written, it's your fault for not liking it. You should be able to sit in front of the TV like a zombie and consume it, no questions asked, good or bad. I stopped responding to him weeks ago and it's been a better experience on the M/TV board.

If you go to the same restaurant 6 weeks in a row and send your food back every time, at some point you have to accept some of the blame.

my wife and I are watching it with growing frustration
it feels like Apple+ filler content filmed two years ago from a B level Production Company
the writing, the storylines, the sets, the wardrobe, even the casting is just shite. Every golf shot sounds like a missile launch
Owen Wilson is great paired with another lead, he just cant carry anything by himself without doing the Owen Wilson charm schtick over the top. Marc Maron is great in small doses but he wears thin after awhile with the Oscar the Grouch routine.
The kid has zero charisma and is unlikable. The mom is a terrible actress and WAY too old to be that boy's mom if she had him at 19/20 like she said. Santi is 17 in the show, the real life actress is 47. Judy Greer is the best actor on the show.
As for the non-binary character, the THEY/THEM shite is tiresome. Santi just fricked her and still says they/them. Ridiculous. Plus that chick is a terrible wooden actress as well.
All that being said, the glaring weakness in the show versus Ted Lasso is all of the characters in the inner circle of Ted Lasso are flawed but likable. The villains are external to the Ted Lasso core group.
Even Nate is in the group, turns heel and leaves the group, comes back and is a likable character again.
In Stick all of the characters in the Stick Pryce inner circle are awful and unlikable. So all of the villains and strife are inside the core character group. Perhaps when the Timothy Olyphant character joins the show as the villain they will all rally around each other and join forces. But they still suck as characters and I am not sure the show can overcome that.

Someone just needs to tell Santi to get over it and tell his mom she’s done nothing more than pimp out her son for $100k.

Was about to bail but episode 7 (Dreams never Remembered) is incredible

With the short episodes, I’m just waiting for the show to be done and will binge. Waiting all week to get a snippet is aggravating.

Good episode to set up the stretch to close out the season.

This was the least annoying episode for almost all of the main characters except for mama whose level of annoying remains consistent.

I’ve learned that I can’t stand the Latina accent. I guess everytime I’ve heard it before the chick was always smoking hot so it didn’t bother me. Her constant arrogance on things that are completely wrong annoy the shite out of me. I can handle Zero and the prick kid, but the mom is unbearable.
