This show (at least through the first 5 seasons, typical for CW) is so well done considering it really paved that way for the modern superhero craze.

Rewatching it makes me feel so nostalgic, to the point of sadness at times considering it started SIXTEEN years ago in a much simpler time (before 9/11).

As campy as it can seem now, it really did hit all the right buttons at the time and, even though Tom Welling took several seasons to get the acting down, the overall acting is top notch.

Early seasons Kristen Kruek FTW. The Luthers are perfect characters in this show. The dynamic of adding Lionel into the show late bc he was acted so well doesn't even show.

Pa Kent in this show is the best in history. J. Schneider FTW.

Chloe is way hotter than I remember.

Pete kinda sucks.

Not to Lois yet, but she is the GOAT Lois BY FAR.

Overall, the show makes me feel like a kid again.

This is a show I will probably start watching next. I have seen it playing on TV and it was interesting, but I was lost.

Appreciate you bringing it up

Keep in mind it's a pioneer show in some ways so expect campiness and a procedural approach at times.

I like how the show matures as the characters mature. Early on each episode kind of stands alone with a monster of the week thing going on but the overall story arc really gets going in the later seasons.

Loved the series. Seen it twice from start to end. Gonna re-watch soon, but start in season 3 to avoid the freak of the week crap. Rosenbaum carries the series on his back for a while and is my favorite Lex. Also, I like Justin Hartley and Allison Mack MUCH more than the slackers on Arrow. Just to drive the point home, Erica Durance is super hot.

Even though Vandervoort makes me want to rip her clothes off in every scene, I prefer the girl next door look Benoist brings to Kara/Supergirl.

Eta: I wish there was a concussion counter on the characters thoughout the series. It has to be WAY up there. With all of the attention on concussions now, I wonder if they would still write it that way.

I'm still working my way through the series a first time but I like how everything progressed from having a weekly villain to building a story around them for a bit longer.

I'm at the start of season 7, I believe. Yeah it was around then I noticed they started doing more with the show than just presenting a one-off episode for those with short attention spans like me.

Arrow has since taken up the mantle of best superhero show The CW has produced, but it was definitely one of the better shows of its time.

Smallville was great. Doesn't really hold up well due to the recent overload of high quality superhero movies, but when it came out, it was quite revolutionary. Kind of jumpstarted the whole deal.

Like others have said, first few seasons were a little teenie bopper until they found their footing later on. If you've watched all 10 seasons, you get very emotionally engaged in the show.

Season 4 with Clark going after the stones was the start of it and when the show really started coming into it's own.

Plus, Lois.
