There you go.
Just start with that the next time you fall on your face.

Only thing missing from that White Knight, is his canteen of Soy. Used to help those fragile SJW's, who are in desperate measures.

This isn't useful. It isn't even close to the same thing.
the Star Wars IP was supposed to be bigger than the Marvel IP

My thing is, you can clearly see where seeds were sown in TFA for the events of TROS, but Rian Johnson shite the bed.
Say what you will about JJ, he grew up a sci fi fan and would have been a great caretaker of the Skywalker saga because he was a fan of it, same way Feige grew up a Marvel fan.

oh 100%
Rian wanted to put his stamp on the franchise by deconstructing it. nothing more. nothing less.
the problem is that could have worked in episode 9, but doing it in 8 completely fricked 9 b/c everything is dead by the end of 8, effectively

“Deconstructing” Star Wars is the stupidest thing you can do with the IP, particularly with the main saga.
Blockbusters should never attempt to “subvert” expectations, should meet them and try to exceed them.

well star wars is pretty vanilla stuff, just with sci fi all around it. i mean even the colors of the bad guys and good guys are meant to show the clear line. this isn't the saga where "deconstruction" is warranted (which is why it was so tempting for an a-hole like RJ to do it)

Star Wars was Westerns meeting Sci Fi. Children of the 50s who grew up to admire the Space Race of the 60s could see them both in all their glory in the late 70s.
Westerns were one of the few original artforms that our nation brought to our planet’s history and Rian Johnson shite all on that. Not only did he shite on it, he did some with the approval of a company that was built by a man who exuded the American Dream.

It was a huge flop.
It was so bad that Disney scuttled a bunch of SW projects.
But, sadly, Solo didn't deserve it. It was pretty good.
I left TLJ feeling like I got hit in the gut with a bat. That is the low bar for SW movies.

Disney turned a slam dunk into a question mark. How the frick do you do that to Star Wars?
Because you're racist, homophobic, and sexist.

I’m excited. I was disappointed a bit in TLJ, but I loved TFA. Plus I have faith in JJ to right the ship.

Solo was horrible. I don’t know why people insist on saying it was good and it only flopped because of the deserved TLJ backlash when it was just as shitty as TLJ.
With the main saga, at least you can say there is pressure and maintaining consistency. With Solo, you can write Indiana Jones movie or Die Hard movie or hell even a damn Fast and Furious movie, dip it in a can of Star Wars paint and boom, you have a satisfying, fun hit.
But no, we get Frankenstein’s monster of a Shitshow. Seriously, what’s the plot of the movie? What’s the main narrative? What’s the Macguffin? They made Han and Chewie’s meeting and partnership a chance encounter with no significance or meaning, the Kessel Run was a tense 10 second ride through yellow clouds, and they made the villain some blinger with freckles who was actually pulling Han into the Rebellion despite ANH making it apparent that Han could give a frick about the politics of the Galaxy, he just wants to fly and get paid in the Wild West outskirts.
Seriously screw everyone involved in that disaster and calls it anything other than what it is - a big dookie pile. This is why we can’t have nice things.

I don't. Luke is dead and his character tarnished for no reason whatsoever, force ghosts can affect the physical world, and ships can be destroyed by other ships going lightspeed. There's no recovering from that.
