They burned some bridges on this one.

Lol. Everyone who has been complaining will still be there for Ep 9 on opening weekend.

I don't know, I'm going to need to digest this some more. I REALLY didn't care for some of the things they presented, and to be clear- it's taken me a lot less time to come to that opinion than it did with, say, Ep 1. And BTW I was an adult when those came out, they weren't "my" Star Wars.
Ep 1 left some things that made me wonder, and I didn't like a lot of the silliness (Jar Jar).
This one is hitting in other areas, things that are less likely to be overlooked for the sake of enjoying the fun ride.

Well it’s the mindset that led them off the scent to what could have been the best Star Wars movie ever. I just don’t know how it got by the script supervisors and they didn’t tell Rian to remove almost all the B-Plot and write more scenes about Rey and Kylo Ren. That is what was working in this movie, but we get so sidetracked on worthless bull shite. A writer/director like Alex Garland wouldn’t have done this shite.

That’s why I keep telling people this movie is the product of terrible management and executive leadership that is riddled with “group think”

BTW, I think this is a bit of a misrepresentation-

Star Wars movie opening during the holiday season, and it DIDN'T set records? You KNOW it's getting a ton of early ticket sales. It went on sale a month early, and at the time there was zero idea what it was going to be, other than "next Star Wars movie".

By the time you start getting a clean chance to go line up and buy tickets to see it, the rumors and spoilers start popping up, and the film starts to limp at the gate.

I DON'T think this will have legs.

I DO think it will have a ripple effect... I'm going to be more hesitant with the upcoming Marvel films, and the extended Star Wars films too.
Black Panther has a chance to be great, or, in the hands of some agenda, could be very, VERY antagonistic towards mainstream society. It might be the BLM propaganda flick... and given that we just got a heavy dose of feminism in Star Wars, I can't 100% guarantee that Marvel is any safer.

From 1st weekend to second weekend:
Phantom Menace: 20% drop
Attack of Clones: 40% drop
Revenge of Sith: 49% drop
Rogue One: 58.7%
TFA: 39%

Considering TLJ was the highly anticipated follow up to TFA, anything over 50% drop is a let down for the studio

And yes the next one is going to be an uphill climb. Fans won’t trust the reviews

Yeah, after watching them freeze the audience scores, and comparing even those to the critics, Disney has shot their marketing team in the foot. Forever

IMDB even has a disclaimer saying they will not post how they determine their audience average, because they don't want anyone to find a way to work around it

Its a complete and utter hack job at this point

You shouldn't trust reviews anyway.

In my case, you were wrong before this movie was ever released. After TFA, I said frick it torrented Rouge One. I haven't even been in the mood to torrent this one.

But when I am, I will. Disney isn't making shite off of me.
