But the base is still a classic, dude. The falcon was built on some planet by blue collar aliens that put their blood, sweat and tears into every Falcon that rolled off that assembly line. That company didn't care about profit margins or shareholders as much as they cared about making great space ships at a decent price. Millennium Falcon, built alien tough.

Did anyone else think that for a barely space-worthy ship, the Millennium Falcon was able to do some impressive stuff?

Seriously? Did you watch any of the OT?

The Falcon always does badass shite.

Yeah. But I think the other 2 are more powerful/have a higher potential.

Than Luke? Son of Vader?

No one has any idea how powerful Luke is right now but it should be assumed he is insanely powerful.

He was able to turn his father back. That feat in itself was 50x more powerful than stopping a blaster shot IMO. It may not be what we traditionally think of as "force powerful" but it was very much so in its own way.

Not 30 years later it doesn't, at least not necessarily especially when Disney goes out of its way to show us what bad shape its in.

Is this a path you really want to go down with Star Wars?

The entire story is implausible as frick.

you're just supposed to enjoy it as a dumpster ferrari that only a few true pilots can unlock its potential.

Similar to Anakin's speeder. etc.

Of the other 2 Ren is definitely in Vader's bloodline and for all we know Rey may be. I'll be disappointed if she is Luke's daughter because that's way too predictable but for all we know that's the case. Why couldn't either of them be as powerful or more powerful?

I don't think he turned him back. Vader was only Vader because of the loss of love that Anakin experienced. It was too much for him so he became this cold, calculated villain that we take as pure evil. Anakin fulfilled his prophecy when he experienced what love was again.

Not the entire story. The general premise of civilized being existing in a galaxy far, far away is totally plausible

Seriously? It has always been in bad shape. Remember the quotes?

"She's the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy"
"You came in THAT? You're braver than I thought."
"She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts"

Not a car guy, but how would a souped up 1985 Mustang(with 1985 mods) stand up against a brand new standard issue police cruiser? Same questions with a '65 Nova?

I'll answer your question with a question.

What if The Bandit were driving said Mustang or Nova?

Light speed Space travel in the Star Wars universe has been around for thousands of years. You would need the Falcon to be hundreds of years old for that comparison to work.

you know what I mean.

It's hopeless and ludicrous to try and rationally analyze most things that happen. Especially things having to do with technology.

Again, depending on gravitational pulls the physics will be totally different from what we experience.

touche.

Also was re-watching all the lightsaber duels on youtube. The prequels did have some pretty decent duels. Super CGI of course but good scores and action around them.

totally forgot that Anakin saved Obi Wan when he rescued the Chancellor. Could have left him for dead but Anakin said "his fate will be the same as ours".

My $0.02....

I absolutely loved the movie. Won't rehash reasons why I thought it was great other than to echo some of the general sentiments on this thread and the M/TV board - great storytelling, compelling action, money performances by Ridley, Boyega & Driver (I was most-skeptical of him), et al. Disney, Kathleen Kennedy and JJ did exactly what they needed to do to get the film franchise on track and bring it to a whole new generation.

Two quick points:
1) Some of the theories I've seen about Snoke and Rey - that Snoke is Plagueis and Rey was conceived by the force - are likely incorrect. Disney has gone to great lengths to get away from the prequels, and those are two concepts that were both unique to the prequels.
2) Was Captain Phasma just a red herring? The expectation was that she would be this trilogy's Boba Fett. Seems like a fairly pointless character.

Or just a way to build hype by using a currently famous female giant?

Agree she was basically pointless.

Well, it can crash into the ground multiple times and not get a scratch. I'd say it's pretty much indestructible.
