I saw that. So you think he made it off the planet somehow? Again, not trying to stir up stuff.
Yeah, I think Han was the only main casualty. All the other characters made it. They had plenty of time to evacuate the station. And JJ would not be foolish enough to kill him off, especially vaguely.

Wait, was Hux the guy that got in the little escape pod or whatever? When he was saying the planet is imploding?

Got it now.
Thanks.

I have friends who are so pissed. They are saying Star Wars is ruined and are in a depression because Han died. I had the complete opposite reaction. We are in a pretty heated argument.

Complete, not begin. He has been training him. Kylo tells Snoke outright that Rey is stronger in the Force than him, but she doesn't know it (that she is stronger nor how to use it).

Let me start off by saying that I am not a huge fan of the original Star Wars films or the prequels. I'm 19 and never really could get into the originals i guess, but the Force Awakens was amazing. I loved every second of the movie, I'm so excited for episode VIII it is ridiculous lol.
I love the internal struggle you see within Kylo Ren. Just the entire third act was incredible. I loved this movie

Entertaining film but it was almost comical how much of a fan film it was. I was waiting for the returning stars to pause and bow, and then smile at the audience as each plot point from New Hope was repeated.
It was like those old wild west shows, where they'd reenact the Battle of Little Big Horn as the audience hooted and hollered.
Sinful how underused Oscar Issac was in this film.
Daisy Ridley is set for movie roles for the next ten years.

I thought this was well known prior to release. Disney paid $4 billion for Star Wars franchise because it has a huge fan base. JJ is an admitted fanboy. The movie is about to rake in $250 million first weekend.
Not sure I would term it comical. Give the audience what it wants seems smart to me.

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. I saw The Force Awakens tonight and got admonished by some loser because I was breaking up laughing.
How could I not with Bruce Jenner as Leia Organa.
Mechanica McManpants as Hanna Solo
Wookie Hair Club for Men as Chewbacca
As Kylo Ren
And Blaxploitation Bob as the comic relief.
This had to be intended as a comedy, right?
The whole thing was so spoofish it had me choking back laughter.
It was an experiment in the absurd, completely ham handed and predicable.
The stack of Old Leather starring as Han Solo was the best part of the film, but even his lines were heavy and forced.
The point I lost it was when Bane 2.0, who had been a lame but not terrible villain up until then, took off his mask.
The Nose beneath the mask filled the screen after that point and had me choking back guffaws as his nostrils delivered awful line after awful line.
This was so much better than the prequels only in that it was so unintentionally funny with every overdelivered line or scene that tried to toe the line between witty and serious but failed, miserably.
Thank Yoda Han is dead so they can't exploit him anymore. One can only hope Mark Hamill isn't around to have his memory tarnished in the next one.
Everything about the Force Awakens, I can only hope, is intended as a Joke.

Was this post not enough of a dud in the thread you started?

Well y'all bitched about it not being in the "official thread".
Y'all sure are defensive of this joke of a movie.
It wasn't anything good unless it was intended to be comedic

I feel like there is a scene out there that explains how he went from the Tie wreck to being back at the base.

It was an almost beat for beat redux of A New Hope. If you had one or two throwbacks to the original, that would be interesting. But after the "find the droid","father versus son", "old warrior dies at the end", "clandestine meeting in alien bar", "introduction of the death star" and on and on... it just becomes laughable.
A fun movie, but it's all fan masturbation. Nothing new to see here.

I really loved this movie. The action ; the humor ;the intensity. Everything was pretty good and felt like a New Hope.
But God did I just about lose it on the light saber battle. What the hell was Kylo Ren even doing when Rey was thinking about the force?

He was trying to convince her to join him.

I don't get why so many are caught up on three things. Female lead, black lead and Adam's looks.
first off Rey was better as a female, they have not had that arc yet and every other character is a guy. I liked seeing the girls get excited when Rey showed her force powers, it's great that they can play with Star Wars toys now too.
Blueboy had a thread a few months back calling it an agenda to have a black lead and then called it "Blaxplotation" in this thread. For what, having a black lead? I think Finn was a good character and gave many of the best lines in the movie.
Finally Adam's looks, is he playing an evil bastard with issues or a model or love interest? Most psychopaths and murderers and criminally insane are not "beautiful people"

I hated that line "You could use a good teacher". Maybe it was the way he delivered it, but god, I hated the frick out of it.
I loved the movie outside of that scene. Was on the edge of my seat when the mega death star was about to destroy the Republic again.

I agree 100% it's ANH reboot. Again, even non-spoilerish viewers knew that going in. That's pretty much what SW needed IMO. The prequels left a terrible stain on the franchise. This movie goes back to what made it the juggernaut it is.
But it also wasn't a frame by frame copy. It introduces a fast forwarded progression from ANH. In 2:16 you get some of the same plot narratives, but introduce new characters with development, bring in old characters as catalysts and set up the trilogy to dig deeper into what fans want: the mythology.
It's basically ANH + half of ESB in one movie. Anyone that didn't like this movie isn't going to watch more. Those already fans can't wait for the second installment and it made new fans that were too young to see ANH at a young age.
