I agree that one can be swayed when there are two. Vader and Sidious tried to sway Luke to the dark side. But if they end up being swayed one of the 2 would have to die.
Edit: just saw your edit I agree

Yeah, Finn with the lightsaber was a clear red herring. I could tell that from the damn poster. Rey's the main character and likely Luke's daughter. Of course that lightsaber will be her's and not a random Stormtroopers.
And it's not like he's slicing people up with it. He basically can ignite it and swing it around with just enough success for someone else to come save him.

Sidious wanted Luke to kill Vader so he could become his new apprentice.

I had butterflies as Solo confronted his son. It is one thing to read that Han would die but to actually see it was something else. Instead of the son trying to turn the father, it is now the father trying to bring the son back from the dark side. Driver showed a wide range of emotions and was able to trick the audience into thinking that his feelings were genuine. It was a great send off to such a beloved character. I was moved when Leia argued that her son still had good in him. Han asked how could he be turned if Luke couldn’t do so and Leia said, “Luke is a Jedi. You are his father”.
While it was a great scene, I was a little disappointed in how Chewie reacted to Han’s death. I envisioned him going ape-shite crazy and pulling Stormtrooper’s arms out of their sockets. Seeing him shoot them in anger with his cross-bow doesn’t quite have the same effect. That said, hearing the booming echo of his roar after his dear friend’s death choked me up. I was glad to see he got a direct hit on Kylo too for revenge on his dear friend.
I was not crazy about the Death Star Part III. It was already repetitive when the second one appeared in Return of the Jedi. The Empire Strikes Back didn’t suffer for not including a giant battle-station in it’s climax. I did like that the base turned into a sun after being destroyed, however.
The film closes with the big scene that everyone was waiting for. Rey meeting the legend. I found it interesting that J.J. Abrams said he decided to direct the film after being asked the question, “Who is Luke Skywalker?”. Too bad we never got to find out. Hopefully Rian Johnson will be able to better answer that question in Episode VIII.
As for what the future holds, I hope to see a memorial service for Han with Lando present. It would be nice to see him become Chewie’s new co-pilot. It is a shame that we will never again see the big three in Han, Leia, and Luke on the big screen together again. Rey is obviously Luke’s daughter and it will be interesting to see how she handles Luke’s decision to abandon her on a desert planet just as he once was. The battle between cousins will also be compelling. I have the film as the fourth best Star Wars film in the franchise after Episodes V, IV, and III.

movie was definitely the original Star Wars' Disney-fied. A movie that felt like it was made for pre-teens. Meh.
Because who loves movies with towns being massacred, star systems being destroyed, and a son killing his parents? CHILDREN!

Having a green Rey who has no Jedi training handle her own vs a skilled swordsman like Kylo Ren was insulting.
Not only was the man trained by the great Luke Skywalker but he was also trained by Supreme Leader Snoke. Imagine Luke showing up Vader before he was even trained by Yoda and Obi-Wan in the original films. A scrub isn’t coming off of the bench to beat Lebron in his first game of one on one.
I don't really think you're getting it. Kylo really isn't trained properly. He's very loosely trained in only the basics, but he has tons of raw power. Yes Luke showed him some things, but he didn't teach him too well. His lightsaber is proof enough of this. I think Kylo is mostly self taught and has studied through 3rd party sources. In fact, it's not even clear if Kylo has met Snoke in person yet and if Snoke is merely using him and now wishes to properly train him. He has no idea how to balance his emotions. Kylo is an amateur like Rey, he just had a bit of a head start on her.

How old is Kylo supposed to be? In the flashback with the Knights of Ren, he was adult sized. Driver is around 30 in real life.

It's actually a darker ANH reboot if you want to call it anything.

I'm not sure if that is a flashback. It could be Rey having a vision towards the future. He's 28 tops though since the film takes place 30 years after Return of the Jedi.

I read someone said that Kylo is basically the dark side version of Luke in Empire. I like that analogy.

Snoke said that he wanted Kylo brought to him so that he could finish his training. So I think it was pretty clear that Kylo wasn't close to being fully trained.

Wow. I'm hesitant to rate this film because I want to see it a few more times before I definitively say something.
I loved Daisy Ridley. She was tremendous and stole the show IMO. The whole cast was solid, though. John Boyega did a great job. Oscar Isaac made Poe so freaking cool. The old guard did a great job. I know Kylo is young and still not fully trained, but I thought the movie would've been better if it had a stronger villain. I didn't find him particularly menacing. The jokes were well-timed and pretty good for the most part. The visuals were staggering. Lot of CGI, but it was nice to see so many different, beautiful landscapes due to lots of filming locations.
Also, I want my own BB-8.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NO
Trust me, after thinking it up, that was MY EXACT REACTION! But in the craziest of ways, it makes sense. Story-wise (and this is just where my mind went and how I could see myself writing the next two films), I think it would be interesting allowing Kylo Ren to turn back from the dark to join Luke and Rey against Supreme Leader Snoke in Episode IX, especially if the fan theory about Snoke being Darth Plagious is true. Kylo believes he is doing the work Vader started and wants continued. How better to turn Kyko back than to have his grandfather himself tell him that he is fighting for the wrong cause?
And after thinking it over, I think this could give Hayden a chance to redeem himself and his performance that has been criticized since 2002. Imagine if the filmmakers did this and Hayden's performance was FLAWLESSLY GOOD? I mean, though people would love it-and so would I- I don't ever see Disney remaking the prequels. I mean, I doubt this idea will happen in any way shape or form-I even doubt the filmmakers would entertain such an idea. I just think if they did, it would be an interesting way to get people to maybe view the character of Anakin differently.

I think too many people are making this argument about Kylo and not Rey. Lightsaber fighting isn't about how good you are with a sword, it's about how you use the force to help you anticipate and influence your moves. That precedent is set when Luke is having to deflect the floating ball with the helmet covering his eyes.
Rey just became more in tune with the force quicker after she touched Luke's lightsaber and went through that trial/revelation scene. The force AWAKENED in her. We haven't seen that happen before and that's why a lot of people aren't accepting it. Because we learned something new about the force that wasn't established before this movie.

I wasn't a fan of Snoke's look. He looked like the child version of Jason from the original Friday the 13th. Hux screaming at the rally was cringe worthy too. Also, how the hell did Hux rescue Kylo so fast before the base blew up? The Falcon barely escaped.

The final scene where Rey picks up a lightsaber for the first time in her life and takes down Kylo was laughable.
I think you are the only one that thinks this. Even the people that didn't like the movie, loved this part.

Has everyone forgotten that Kylo was hurt during that fight? Chewie shot him.
