A movie at Sundance. BFD. In 2025, Sundance doesn't mean chit anymore.
Universal. So what? Why's she still talking about freaking Star Wars in 2025?
She's had 6 years to vent, but now that she's on some promotion for a "Sundance" movie, she's harping on 'muh racist Star Wars fans' , just after Jon Boyega whined racist b.s.

Notice who else he’s defending? He implicates the Chinese people instead of the Chinese government, who actually altered those presentations. Gotta protect the CCP.

you ever think that might be connected? Maybe because they interviewed Boyega 2 weeks ago and he said some bad shite about star wars fans and they got a bunch of clicks Variety went and interviewed this chick too to ask her about star wars and generate a bunch of clicks again?

These are lies. Made by actors who are legitimately angry because they were used stupidly in a ridiculously over hyped movie.
But they can't blame the studio, or the writes, or directors. No. That'd be career suicide. So she blames the FANS. Of the movies which vastly underperformed.
Not smart.
Rose Tico was laughably bad character. "Fans" don't blame her for that, but she and John take it too personally .
I saw her in Sweet Tooth. Didn't even recognize her either. And that was another thing Disney did - made her look frumpy and gave her a piss poor attitude. But never mind that. She's DIFFERENT! So that's the OOOOOOOOOOOOONLY reason why fans were upset.

This wasn't even a race/gender swap. This was an entirely new character. I don't know anyone who cares that she is Asian. Her entire storyline was hot garbage though (as was nearly the entirety of the second movie), and she's not a good actor.

Go after the writers and directors of these bad films Rose. And maybe take some blame for yourself for not being able to recognize how awful these films were going to be. Stop blaming people who don’t have any say but are expected to pay to sit through garbage and get chastised for not coming back for more.

Honestly, this is what is so frustrating about companies like Disney, and these young actors, directors, writers, etc.. They will never acknowledge that their work is simply not good, and the current culture allows them an easy out. Just make better movies.

I typically don't join in with the crowd around here when they hate certain characters/actors, but I couldn't stand Rose. I hated every scene she was in.
Finn would have been better with better writing, but I didn't have the disdain for him that I had for Rose.

You make a good point. Rose's arc in the 2nd movie is one of the reasons i had no desire to watch the 3rd movie.
Im not sure if the actress knows why her part was so bad though because rather than give legit criticisms everything just gets lumped into "woke"
