Solo didn’t suck.
Solo was a good movie and Rogue One was a very good movie.
The only turd that has been dropped is 8 and that is on Kathleen Kennedy and Rian Johnson.
All of this. RO, Solo, and TFA were all pretty good imo. If JJ can save this trilogy and make a good movie, I’m on board.
Seems like Palpatine is going to have a presence of some sort. That’d be an unexpected twist that I for one would welcome to tie all 3 trilogies together. Sith version of a force ghost perhaps?

Not only that but he had never seen holdo and had no idea who she was or what she looked like or that she was a woman.
Second in command of the resistance was a surprise ghost to the entire resistance.

And I thought the Avengers nerds were bad. Anyone stupid enough to keep giving these idiots at Disney money for these sucky movies is a fool. They were questionable from jump street and only got worse. If they wanted a Rise of Skywalker, how about not make the hero of the original ground breaking movies a bumbling fricking retard who was good for nothing.

The saga has always been about the Skywalkers.
Return of the Jedi has a dual meaning. Jedi in the singular form was about Vader reverting to Anakin. The bigger picture was that Luke was the beginning of a new Jedi Order. It’s obvious that George wanted to do the prequels earlier to tell Anakin’s story and tell the PT with Luke in the middle of building a new Jedi Order and his offspring along with his sister and Han’s child(ren) being that next generation of Skywalkers being at the center of the plot.
JJ set this all up perfectly in TFA and Rian shite it all away. I mean seriously. I’d understand if he was just told to write a new Star Wars movie from scratch and given no time to do so and limited resources, but JJ put a beach ball on a tee ball stand for him and gave him Babe Ruth’s bat and all he did was take three swings, hit his nuts then shite himself.

It’ll be better than TLJ, but not near enough to salvage the trilogy.
I’ll probably watch it opening weekend because I’m that kind of sucker.

By the end of Empire the story is clearly no longer a hero tale about Luke.
What? Luke is the entire catalyst for Return. It's his self sacrifice, Bravery, and belief in the light that topples the empire. It's his training and understanding of what it really means to be a Jedi. It's his determination to save his father and prove that you can resist the dark side.
All Vader desired was power. Luke understood there as more than raw power.
You people are insane. Luke is one of the greatest heros of all time with an incredible arc and depth.
Retconning Luke's central importance because of the prequels is ridiculous. And insulting to the story.

I'll never understand why Holdo was created when Rian could have easily used Mon Mothma.

Once it became a trilogy and they decided where they were going with Vader, the story as a whole became about him.
Naaaaah, the story is clearly centered around Luke. Anyone that's not some nerd contrarian knows that.

What's to get excited about? That the Bo Jackson of Jedis is about to run her record to 3-0 against the idiot Sith princeling?
But yeah, the CGI looked pretty tight.

Abrams consulted heavily with George Lucas to craft episode 9's story.

Rian Johnson had an extremely tenuous grasp of anything about star wars. I'd be honestly surprised if he ever watched even the original trilogy more than once in his life.

If he's trolling, he's hooked me because it's irrationally bothering me that anybody is looking at that trilogy and saying it's really Darth Vader's story.

This is an invented retcon after the prequels and fan fiction hype.
Vader destroyed the Jedi. Luke brought them back. Lucas stabbed them in the back. Johnson buried them.

You remember the last times he wrote the story for Star Wars movies, right? This is what will get you to the theater?

Yes. Look at the scene where he is talking with Obi Wan about saving his father and Obi Wan is saying it can't be done.
Keep in mind that at that point Obi Wan is "one with the Force" meaning that Luke is basically arguing with an avatar of the Force itself. And he's right.
He is so good and so incorruptible that he basically knows more about the true nature of the Force than even the Force does.
That is not Darth Vader's story any more than it is Chewbacca's.
