Except for the fact that Lucas retconned after the release of ANH for it to be that way. Vader wasn’t originally Anakin. Now, I will agree that it became about Anakin’s redemption, but to downplay that Luke was the focus, and the intended focus, of ANH is absurd.

I don't think we will see any star wars movie before 2022 and it sure as hell won't be Rian Johnson's dead trilogy.
Episode 9 is going to have a Solo type reception at the box office.

It's hilarious some people still think it's going to be made just because it was never publicly cancelled. They don't understand how Hollywood works. Projects are almost never "cancelled", they just never happen. 4-5 years will pass and someone will ask about it and both sides will say the standard "got busy with other projects" bs they always do.

The Asian character Rose was shoe horned in to appeal to Chinese ticket buyers and they were too dumb to realize that Chinese people are racist and she is Vietnamese or Thai. They made a bad movie worse with that garbage on the casino planet that didn’t even effect the plot. Also, Akbar killed with no send off like he was nobody. Killed Luke. Purple hair bad arse woman General breaks all Star Wars forever by bringing in hyperspace jumps as a weapon. Poe Damron is apparently the third ranking guy in the resistance but somehow Leia and purple hair decide to keep him in the dark for no reason at all.
It’s like a 6th grader wrote it.
If JJ can clean all of that up, he’s a Jedi.

Once it became a trilogy and they decided where they were going with Vader, the story as a whole became about him. By the end of Empire the story is clearly no longer a hero tale about Luke.
