-don't mind Rey having more power potential than Luke. It's the way all of these stories are.
-From what I can tell, Dern's character is not supposed to be positive (EDIT: Never mind. She's the hero of the movie, doing something she could have done two hours and 50 ships ago).
-Why didn't they just split up the fleet? Is this the whole plot? A low-speed space chase that allows those being chased to go to other planets and complete other missions, pointless though they may be?
-Leia has emperor-esque floaty super lightening powers but Luke gets his arse kicked by Rey. Okay.
-and Dern actually likes and admires Poe. Okay, let me explain this to the younger men of the board. This is some hard core female shite. At some point in any relationship, you're going to ask yourself "man, does this woman actually get off on bickering and arguing?" The answer is yes. She does. Women are incapable of contentment and need to constantly stir shite up. This is the base, biological origin of why Adam and Eve's story went down like it did. They weren't real people. It's just a metaphor for "bitches be crazy." They should have just written that down in the bible and saved a lot of time. But women love you, and the bitching and bickering is all just part of their process. As democrats and liberals are basically just a female mentality put to practice, I noticed during my years in DC that this is how they operate. This translates to show biz a lot too. They bitch and scream like they despise each other and then they kiss and make up and the shitty movie gets released.
-Jesus, that nose is fricking distracting. It's like they did everything they could to accentuate it.
-Snoke force raping Rey. Check. Oh right, I forgot about Snoke.
-So, Poe pulls a mutiny and he just gets let right the frick back into the loop? Doesn't sound like any military I've ever heard of. See above explanation of female behavior.
-So, Ren converts to the light to save Rey and kill Snoke, a la Jedi, but then immediately jumps back to being evil (because that's the only way we can have a third one of these, because they painted themselves into a corner in their zeal to kill off old Star Wars.)
-lol, Phasma/Finn fight is absurd. Oh right, Phasma is a thing. I've seen the action figures. This gon' be good. Oops. Never mind.
-Wow, Carrie Fisher looked like Liberace for a second there.
-ah, but there she is, with the eyes-only shot. That was nice. Carrie Fisher knew better than anyone that she'd devastated herself, but even if those eyes were enhanced both digitally and medically, there was no mistaking that they were Leia's eyes. Great parting shot.
-Rose is definitely in this movie for the Asian audiences. The way she acts and talks is clearly meant for Asian viewers.
-FUN FACT: Rose stunning, manhandling and insulting the black guy is definitely for the benefit of Asian viewers. Those gags are getting huge laughs in the same parts of the world where the TFA poster featured a downsized Finn because Asians don't like black people. How's that for the "progressive," political message-driven SJW mouse studio? I might start a thread on this alone just to make sure people see the hypocrisy.
-however, "I bet you do" is still my favorite line in the movie.
-ice critters
-keep the black chick pilot away from me. like way over there. thanks.
-so it's literally a "big gun?" wow. At some point, the stupidity reaches a level at which you have to ask yourself whether or not they are doing this shite on purpose.
-so, Rose "saves" Finn and tells him that the only way they can win is with their feeling or some absurd bullshite - and causes the rebel base to be blown to shite by the literal big gun?
-Luke giving Leia the space fuzzy dice from the Falcon. Why did Disney create the space fuzzy dice and force them into this story?
-should the general be copping an attitude with Ren 2 minutes after being force choked? Seems like the guy would be more sheepish and submissive by now.
-okay, never mind. Ren with the force pimp slap.
-Okay, Luke's death is not as outrageous to me as it is for some of you. You people had me believing that he died getting fricked in the arse by black bulls and watching Leia and Rey get seeded with their jungle jizz. The directions they took with the character were all wrong, but Luke's death was a bit more noble than you people made it out to be. Plus, you know he'll be a force ghost in the next one.
-so, the rebellion is now one white girl, an Asian, a black guy and some jews. Great. I love a happy, diverse ending.

I just can't stop laughing at the Leia flying thru space scene. That was serious one of the worst scenes I've seen in years. WTF were you thinking Rian?

Kennedy was pushing the leia using force powers in this movie. Rian thought it would be best to do it in a drastic situation.
What followed was lol.

The dice were in a New Hope.

Ex machina plot armor ran rampant through this movie.

Yea they were in ANH, but I know almost nobody that actually knew about them. I've watched that movie 1000 times and never picked up on them.

I just want to time warp to May for the Han Solo movie. There’s no way Kasdan and Ron Howard screw it up.

Speaking of Ex Machina, Alex Garland should have been the one to direct this movie.

My issue with Rian fricking this up is that we have so few Star Wars movies. They only greenlight one of these on average once every ~5 years. HE WASTED IT. In this modern special effects era where the lightsabers have never looked better, blaster bolts freeze in air, and the HD shots are incredible, it was wasted.
Watching the original trilogy now, it doesn't age well due to the poor technology even though it was game changing for cinema. (as do any sci-fi movies that are 40 years old) This is also true in the prequels; the special effects are better, but the cgi was still in infancy compared to today. It's the reason the backgrounds and sets looked like trash in AotC.
The Last Jedi did great things in terms of cinematography. Many of the shots were beautiful, and paired with the score, perfection. But the story was atrocious. It wasted a Star Wars movie. Rian burned it down to spotlight his own trilogy of "What would the universe be like if no one knew about the jedi, but many people had force powers." Save that shite for a netflix series, not the Skywalker Saga you frick.

Well, the good news is that Disney is going to milk this franchise drier than Luke milked that sea chicken's titties so we're getting one of these a year.
The third movie in this cycle is in 2019 and you won't wait more than three years after that for a new trilogy to fire up and show us all that everything in this trilogy accomplished jack shite.

Also, I forgot to mention that although I'm not looking up my own posts from years ago, but I have said for a long time that they didn't need to include many original characters in the new trilogy. Sure, have Luke or Leia, Han etc. but not all of them. They had to give them all something memorable to do, which distracted from the development of the several new characters they wanted to introduce. Even the SJW shite could have been fit into it in a less annoying way.
I also can't believe they ended it the way they did considering Carrie Fisher is dead. If they're entertaining the thought of a CGI Leia, they are going to dip into a whole new universe of sucking.

It’s going to be Force ghost CGI Leia.

The only way they do CGI ghost is if she dies in the movie. If they're going to let her die, they don't have to have a ghost at all.

Just watched it for the second time. Much better than first viewing.

Whelp, that was pretty underwhelming.
I cracked up in the theater when Leia walked through the smoke wearing all white with a white head wrap and a cane. She looked like freaking Gandalf in the woods when he appeared to Merry and Pippen.
It was pretty interesting to have Luke milk an alien and then squirting it all over his face out of a Gatorade bottle. That was arguably the dumbest scene out of all of the 9 movies.

So i'm assuming pretty much everybody hates it? This is the first time i've been on in a while.

you'll hate it more and more by the day. I've never hated a movie more and i was 20 minutes in...yet here i am and i hate it more than i did yesterday and the day before that.
I actually saw it Thursday. But I am not a die hard Star Wars fan, so it's hard for me to have that strong of feelings for them. I didn't hate it, it just wasnt that great to me. Probably the 7th best out of all of them. I have a feeling im going to enjoy the stand alone films better more than likely from here on out.

I don't know. Falling in love with this guy after he goes on a horrifying rant like this, I think that is quite dumber: LINK
That, although pretty bad, at least had something to do with the story. The milking scene was uselessly dumb. The alien cow gets milked, then just has a staring contest with Rey. End scene.

Yep, This board is in the 5 stages of grief. Denial happens for the First 24 hours. Anger for days. I think I'm entering the bargaining phase in trying to force JJ Abrams to reshoot many parts of TLJ and act as if this cut never happened.
