I just looked up the bomber pilot who died in the opening scene, major fricking to Rian Johnson for casting this chick and then killing her off in the first 5 minutes

Yes, everyone compares Snoke to the Emperor. "Well, we didn't know that much about the Emperor before the prequels!" Well, we didn't need to. We know what an Emperor is. He rules over the Empire. The Empire is the established government in the galaxy. It was established in Empire that he was Vader's "master" and he constantly references the force so it only makes sense that he was a force user too. Snoke requires a good bit of explanation. What is the First Order? How did Snoke come to lead the first order? How is it that he can use the force? I thought Luke was the only established force user left at the end of RotJ. How is he so old and scarred?

Well, that's kinda a huge point don't ya think? The prequels brought a ton of new characters in to explain the reason a New Hope was needed

You cant simply go back now, and do a trilogy showing how Snoke rose to power? Carrie is the most visible character in that storyline, and now she is dead. Han and Luke are too old to be cast in 3 more 'prequel' films. And you would most certainly have to show Luke up to the point where he goes into exile.

Its just lazy storytelling. Its on the level of Batman not killing Superman because he says Martha. Its laughable.

I thought she made it to the Cruiser and Ren took out the whole hangar... She was a looker, all the same.

I can't think of a single logical reason why Leia was left alive. It's probably the biggest wtf in a movie full of them. THEY KNEW SHE WOULDN'T BE IN EPISODE 9

I really dont understand that either. It makes no sense to keep her alive while Luke “dies”

While the story of how the Empire rose to power and how Anakin became Darth Vader is of interest to Star Wars fans, it wasn't needed to understand the plot of the original trilogy.

You had a group of noble rebels fighting to restore democracy to the galaxy against an evil space empire. That empire could have been established 20 years ago or 100 years ago. It does not matter to the story.

The Jedi Order were the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy before the Empire took over. Now Obi-Wan and Yoda, the last of the Jedi, take to training Luke Skywalker who is the son of Anakin Skywalker student and old friend of Obi-Wan.

Darth Vader is just an enforcer for the Empire that can use the force like a jedi.

Luke discovers Vader is actually his father and embarks on a quest to turn Vader back to Anakin Skywalker. Luke eventually succeeds in confronting Vader, turning him to the light, and conquering the empire thus restoring peace and democracy to the galaxy.

Now at the start of the Force Awakens, you have the Resistance, The Republic, and the First Order. Who are the Resistance? What are they resisting? Why are they resisting? Why doesn't the Republic fight the first order?

You could tell practically the exact same story as TFA by just replacing "The Resistance" with "The Republic."

Filming was complete before she died. She was supposed to be a huge part of the next one. TFA was Han Solos movie, TLJ was Lukes and the next was supposed to be Leia.

Just got out

Was disappointed

Some questions

1. The Finn and fat Asian were pointless

2. What was the big reveal? Kept reading they have huge reveals

3. So are we to believe that Luke goes out to fight her son and Leah just doesn't say shite?

The dialogue, forced humor and bad acting reminded me of the prequels

She gets shot in the head after about 5 lines in Mission Impossible Rogue Nation.

I guess it could have been worse. Leaks said that Poe nominated Finn to be the new leader of the Resistance and that Rey and Kylo kiss "creating life".

People seem to think there was a reveal on Rey's parents, but it's so flipping obvious that they are throwing people off the tracks in order for a big reveal next movie.

To ignite the spark, that will light the fire that'll burn the First Order down.

Edit: Man that scene was so great until we found out he was not really there. I noticed something was off with him having the blue saber.
