Yeah, compare that to Empire. Did Vader give a single frick if he couldn’t keep the Tie Fighters covered? frick no, he sent multiple Star Destroyers after them in the Asteroid field, and if they refused he murdered them.

So what if you lose 30 Tie Fighters? They’re a dime in a dozen to the First Order. Instead by doing this stupid plan, they lose 95% of their forces when it backfires.

Lukes not dead. He told the kid he will see him again. Luke has figured out how force ghosts can come back into the game and battle. That means everybody is in play for the next one. And I do mean everyone.

I mean, not really, especially since with every action he makes, Kylo Ren asks himself WWVD. It’s established the Tie Fighters can keep up, so the course is clear: get your asses in the Tie Fighters and the one that brings it down gets millions of credits. Refuse and Kylo Ren chops you in half.

I’m a huge Star Wars fan. I thought the Force Awakens wasn’t great, but it was Star Wars. This sucked and it wasn’t Star Wars. Disney royalty messed this up. I can’t believe this didn’t get reshot after they screened it.

Just saw it. The positives:

1) The main plot was awesome. I really like Luke's arc and the grayness of the force in this movie. Ren and Rey were both really good.

2) For the most part, Poe's arc was good.

3) The score

The negatives:

1) Finn and Rose's storyline was absolutely terrible. The idea of getting a slicer isn't bad but the entire path to getting him was terrible and then he plays no role in the ultimate conclusion.

2) The first 45 minutes are unnecessary. You could cut that and add more time to Rey/Luke.

3) The humor is so forced and, at times, utterly ridiculous. Plus, the nods to pop culture are awful.

Here, is my biggest problem. Disney is making Star Wars into the MCU and, I know it isn't a popular opinion, the MCU is mediocre.

Star Wars is a Skywalker story. Either Rey will be revealed to be Kylos cousin/Sister, or Star Wars is no longer a Skywalker story. And that’s disappointing

I don’t think it’s true that her parents are just some Rando Calrissian drunkards. Kylo was saying that to try to minipulate her to join him. I fully believe she is connected.

I wasn’t a huge fan of Snoke dying the way he did. He was literally pointless. They could have made Kylo the main villain from the get go and never put snoke on it. I agree with someone else that Ackbar should have been the one to sacrifice himself. The way Luke just decided to die seemed forced.

I don’t know why directors wont treat these movies seriously.

Key clues to this was Yoda force ghost starting fire. Lukes ghost foot print on ground. Force ghosts manipulating the physical world. Game changing.

You can have humor and a serious tone - see Empire.

All the little audience nods are pitiful. Luke dusting his shoulders made me groan.

I'll have to think about it more but first reaction is that this was the worst Star Wars film that wasn't a prequel

Attack of the Clones was the worst, this is now the title holder.
