I just got home from seeing Jumanji 2. How on Earth did an unnecessary Jumanji sequel upstage The Last Jedi in every single way? I’m shook.

Rian: "Poe originally went to Canto Bight with Finn and it was so boring. It was just these two dudes on an adventure."

Opposed to boring with a guy and a girl?

"Finn originally was to receive a lot of ego inflating attention upon entering the casino only to realize he had his tuxedo on backwards".

Waka waka. Hilarious.

Rian really needs to stop talking.

I agree. Something is really off with the TLJ reviews and the gap with audience score.

Here's an indication I think is significant, if anecdotal. The prior two movies, TFA and Rogue One, had my kids begging to go back and watch again. No one has asked to go see TLJ a second time, much less a third. The movie just isn't compelling, not even for a kid who watches the movies and the cartoons over and again multiple times.

I mean this is a troll right? Disney is purposefully fricking with the fanbase, right?

At this point i would not be surprised at all if the Episode IX Title Crawl ended with "And so, with Leia dead and Luke part of the force, the resistance has decided to open the Door. Get on the floor, everybody walk the dinosaur" and then the movie was just Never Gonna Give you up WITH Rick Astly super imposed on Luke's island on loop for 2 hours until they cleared the theater.

That is the best part about this whole thing.

It is so bad that it feels like a troll.

The movie is so bad as a part of this trilogy or as a continuation of the larger story that the only explanation I can buy for defending it is a sense of identity related to either the people who don't like it or the people who do like it. That would explain the tendency of people to "defend" the movie by just attacking their perceptions of the people who don't like it (rather than talk about the movie in any sustained way).

The content just isn't adequate for anyone who wants their movies to be better than the last Transformers movie.

This might legitimately be one of the greatest melts in history before we're done.

I'm happy that I lived in a time to see it.

I would watch that.

Over 25 hours since the last post.

At long last, it may be time to drop the sticky. You had a great run at the top of the board, shitty movie!

now I know the prequels were obviously full of "bush is a bad guy" shite, but no one loves the prequels, this is a sequel to the movies people liked and thus it's harder to pretend they don't exist which is what I do with the prequels

The only one that I think suffers from that is 3, and it’s far more subtle and well done shockingly enough. I do think this is probably the best line in the prequels, even if it was a snap at W:

So this is how liberty dies . . . with thunderous applause.

The one that’s worse a bit less subtle is “Only a Sith deals in absolutes”, but I think those are the only two times where Lucas digs at him. 45 seconds is fine. 45 minutes like TLJ did? GFY.

also in attack of the clones, the entire thing about "emergency powers" and suspension of term limits was kind of obvious.

also the movies are about how the good guys in the war become the bad guys or always were the bad guys. manufactured false flag shite had a 9/11 truther vibe to it as well.

To be fair, I’m sure he had this in mind long before Bush was in office.

the great myth is that lucas had all of these ideas floating around in his head decades earlier

he probably just tried to rip off roman history from Julius to augustus, or was making the Vietnam movie he never made... who fricking knows, but I remember at the time thinking as a teenager, "oh, bush is a dictator"

a lot of people think lucas trolled the audience with binks staring at the camera... I kind of think he did
