The audience score is down to 48%
Most hated Star Wars movie by a fricking mile
1) visually beautiful movie. I don't think anyone can dispute that.
2) "my generation's Star Wars", we saw this with the prequels. There's a group that for them, this is the first time they can see a Star Wars film for the first time in the theater.
3) "Star Wars" is in the title. This is the group that is just so in love with the films that they will like ANYTHING with Star Wars attached, because it means their beloved franchise is still alive.
4) fans of the individual actors and actresses, directors etc. I'm sure there are a few, they would praise anything that their people are in.
I think Disney demanded #1, and counted on #2 and #3 to be high. I think they expected the vast majority of the lifelong fans to be #3, who would welcome any addition with happiness and dollars, instead of taking issue with plot points and whatnot. In other words, I think they miscalculated the property they bought, and there are some rumblings that they now realize they may have allowed too much artistic freedom (for lack of a better word) in their current films. They bought the goose that lays the golden eggs, I doubt they wanted to kill it.
The rumors of the Han Solo movie already being considered a mess and a bomb are indications that Disney (and the industry) realizes they've made a mistake. Solo is an iconic character, it should have the anticipation of a big Marvel release at the very least (in their reckoning). I think they understand part of the problem is backlash from this film, and another part is rejection of the actors (and possibly the story too). It's probably too late to save this one, maybe they will reassess the future films and try to return to the original concepts. Rogue One should serve as a guideline, as I think they understand they nailed the tone and the concepts with that.

Then they sterilized the goose and hired a farmer who never ran a farm before and he genetically modified the eggs to be smelly shite wrapped in fake gold figuring everyone would buy the eggs on name alone and not care about the actual product.
So everyone when to get their golden eggs and ended up with big messy piles of shite. And now no one cares about the next harvest season. Because who wants to take a chance biting into a pile of shite again? Even if they promise that they fixed the goose, you'll wait till a few other people try it before you do.
Good Job, Disney.

never thought a Star Wars film in the theatre would fail to entertain me
The Last Jedi was an atrocity.

I will not watch it again.
Ever.
And I watched Star Wars (back when that was all it was called) 13 times in the theater.

Finally gathered the will power to watch this movie a second time. It only gets worse in every aspect. Almost every scene has a new annoying plot hole or retcon.
Luke as a three-stooges, slapstick, knockoff Miyagi, space-bull semen guzzling Jedi hating, nephew murdering, hopeless a-hole is an unforgivable sin.
This movie sucked so goddamn much. frick Rian Johnson. And frick Kathleen Kennedy.
This is just fricking brutal. I always make a point to watch a movie twice. Always. Just to give it a second chance and make sure I wasn't overhyping or misjudging it.
I'm glad I did it with Rogue One. I wasn't too excited about it the first time, but it's now my third favorite Star Wars Movie.
But this movie.... There are absolutely 0 redeeming qualities.
I just got to the scene when they FaceTime Maz while she's playing call of duty and then go to the casino planet filled with the shockingly horrifying rich people who profit off of war and keep slave children but atleast its OK because while they didn't save any of the children, they saved a space horse that was GPS chipped anyway.
If you weren't sure if this movie killed Star wars or not, I assure you a second watch will end any hope you had for this new leadership at LucasFilm.

So, what was the point of Finn and Rose going to find the codebreaker?
