Why did Hux's cannons have a curved trajectory?

Rian Johnson took a shite on the whole franchise like he never liked it at all. he spit in the face of Abrams trying to rekindle the franchise and he took a shite in the lap of Disney who owns the right to it. I'm amazed that this movie made it out the door without being re-edited.
Abrams has a tall task ahead of him with Episode IX. I don't know how you begin to straighten out the current path without a serious time jump due mostly to the ridiculously small size of the Resistance at the end of VIII and the fact that its leader (Leia) can't be in the next film.

the force means nothing b/c we all have the force and don't require any training or education to understand/use it

Exactly. His character was completely neutered for humor.
I'd love to know JJ's true opinion of TLJ.

Because he's a white male.
They should have toned down Hux & turned him into a serious, strategic thinker & tactician, but no, let's go with something out of the 3 Stooges.

Yeah WTF was that about?
In TFA, Hux was a cold, calculating tactician who is arguably second in command of the entire First Order and giving Hitleresque speeches in opposition of the Republic.
In TLJ he's a complete clown who is physically assaulted by both Snoke and Ren and punked in an Abbott and Costello routine by Poe.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet... but, I've seen the film twice now. Once in regular theaters, and tonight I saw it in Imax. Although I like the film overall, I certainly feel like Disney is purposely putting huge gaps in these films to have spin-offs to explain shite.
Like, how the first order came to be? Who the frick is Snoke? Probably even a spin off explaining who the hell Captain Phasma is? Rey's parents?
So many holes and not enough time to explain all of them.
Maybe some will be explained in those spin offs. Genius in a way, but a good way to piss fans off.

i agree
lots of plot holes mean more cartoons, comics, books, and video games to fill the gaps

I saw the movie today and haven't read all 100+ pages. These were the two big questions I was hoping to get answers to. I really wanted to know who Snoke really was along with how he came to power. I also couldn't stand the damn red curtains they used in his room, just really threw me off. Well got one answer which I feel is a lie from Ren. I thought the movie was okay, definitely not one of my favorites. Felt like the Rose character could have easily been left out of the movie. Felt like every time someone was in charge it turned out to be a woman.
Am I the only one who thought Luke would have Rey use the force to get the X wing out of the water? I was pretty disappointed in that not happening.

I agree with this, it seemed like an unfinished backdrop like green screen

I saw TLJ on Friday and woke up this morning still upset about it. An OJ Simpson bronco chase scene is the entire movie with a useless casino world mini movie that doesn’t advance the plot. Then making Luke a loser and not answering one question created by TFA.
I hated this movie!
I have seen every other movie in the theaters (rereleased originals as the originals were before I was born or when I was three years old) and saw some more than once. I really don’t think I’ll see Episode IX in the Theater unless I see some amazing reviews.

The above meme fails to take the following into account:
1) Yoda and Obi-Wan weren't running. They hid so that when Luke and Leia were of age, they could train one or both of them to continue the fight against the Empire and the Emperor. They were the last two Jedi left in the galaxy. If they would have raised their heads up for any reason, they would have been killed.
2) Obi-Wan expressly settled on Tatooine so he could be close enough to Luke to train him. The only reason why he never got the chance to train Luke before the Empire killed his family is because Luke's Uncle Owen forbade training of any kind.

And who is Snoke? Why is Ren such a punk?
The writers should realize that these movies are only as good as the villain. We have a nondiscript villain whose disposed of with no fanfare in Snoke and a spoiled millinial who has been previously defeated by someone with no training. Hux and Phasma also become clowns.
Heros are lame. Villains are lame. Story is lame.

Yep. Also, how do they have so few fighters? In the opening sequence, they have I think 3-4 cruisers and the Dreadnought. Why do they not have at least like 60% of their fighters out protecting their ships? They would have the resistance fighters outnumbered 10-1.
Why when they were walking the battering ram cannon in, didn't they have every fighter they had out protecting it? They continuously get their plans stopped by just a few resistance fighters. So, why do they never deploy their fighters? It makes absolutely no sense.

And that both of them confronted the evil they helped form. They inevitably failed and had to regroup. Luke never even tried.

Pretty much no military decision in the movie makes any sense.

Those pod ships that left Holdo we’re going so damn slow. It seemed like that scene lasted an hour.
