Sister show to For All Mankind. Check it out if you like that. Cool show.

BASTID I was just about to start this thread!
In this expansion of the "For All Mankind" universe, experience a what-if take on the global space race from the Soviet Union perspective; go behind the Iron Curtain, where it's more dangerous on the ground than in space.

I just finished up the latest season of FAM last night and will start this later this weekend. From what I’ve read, they will not do time-jumps between seasons like they do with FAM. Could be a good idea since the show was at its peak during the 60s and 70s.

Btw, prior to starting FAM, I did a rewatch of The Killing. I knew Kinnaman was in FAM, but when Linden showed up later in the series, I really wish they crossed paths one time walking in the corridor and Kinnaman gave her a quick, “Yo, Linden”. I would have lost my shite.

Watched the first 2 episodes of this the last two nights. Really good so far. I guess I need to watch For All Mankind as well.

For All Man Kind - how is that show?
I'm always a sucker for realistic space shows and politics. It's why I liked The Expanse. Realistic on the space travel and how they would travel, politics of humans scattered along Mars, Moon, and Asteroid.

I recommend it. First 2 seasons are incredible TV.
Kind of starts to jump the shark in season 3, but I thought it was still compelling. Season 4 is pretty good but it's outlandish, however if you like the show you'll stick through it. Haven't finished Season 5 yet.
I'm excited to start Star City to see everything from the Soviet angle.

For All Mankind is worth watching. Pretty good show. Cool concept. There are a few cringe episodes in later seasons, but overall good.

I'm just starting Season 3 of FAM.
I take it it's safe to watch this show now?

I think so. Star City right now is taking place about the time of the events of Season 1 of For All Mankind.

Yeah, from what I’ve read Star City is staying in the 60’s time period.

Thanks Bluefin. I had no idea it was 5 seasons. Of course I only recently got AppleTV for Formula 1. So I'm in the dark on some of these shows.

::::spoilers::::
Wow, the cliffhanger in this last episode of Star City was brutal. No way they survived that. They dead. Raskova is indeed a monster.

I watched all of For All Mankind. What i get from that show is if Russia beat us to the moon, then we would have gone all in on Space for the next 50 years and Mars (on that one base)would be an independent nation by now.
I watched first two of this show. I hate the KGB frau farbissina looking Colonel. Has more behind the scenes intrigue less space stuff. Focusing on characters who were just mentions in the other show. (First man on moon, first woman on moon)
I'll keep watching I wonder if they plan to go as far as FaM.

It's a pretty good show. First two seasons are best. Third is a drop but fourth and fifth pick up.
Each season is set in a time period. Then the first episode of each new season will start with News that is different. Different presidents, Hurricane Katrina broke up before hitting Louisiana, USSR much more powerful but governs more like modern China.
So it's a different world. So that space was the main focus of the entire world since the moon. Like a what if we never stopped going to the moon and built bases? It's basically alt history that is told to modern day. Through the eyes of people in the space race.

I didn't like the arc with the black female astronaut then her on charge but being a rule stickler. Think she helped ruin season 3.

First three seasons are as good as anything. Last two seasons, it basically sucked and became a soap opera.

Did anybody else stick with this? The season finale just aired, and this is just a great show.
Hope they get a second season.
Highly recommend.

Season finale was outstanding. Thought the show was a bit dull, but the final two episodes were home runs.

I’m watching the finale right now. I like the show, much different than For All Mankind. It’s more Slow Horses than straight up Sci-Fi.
