It was a dream of his. Nothing to do with money. Loved the business and wanted to bring something different to it. Nothing more than that. He did it for a couple of years and now he does some cooking thing.

I would call a fizzling career not getting much work or only getting straight to free prime. He’s working on a lot of big projects. If you call someone who hasn’t won awards fizzled then Leo could have been fizzling until Reverant.

Not even talking about awards. Teller hasn't even been in a good movie since Whiplash.

Just because they haven’t been great doesn’t mean his career is fizzling. That just means he’s on a cold streak. It’s not like he’s not getting roles anymore

Both seem extremely down to earth and relatively smart by Hollywood standards.

Yep. Prinz and Gellar are pretty much the gold standard for we have a level of fame we are happy with when it comes to Hollywood.

Which is actually pretty incredible seeing as how both of them came up in the industry as young kids in celebrity households.

Certainly Prinze’s experience growing up without a father must have influenced him and in turn Gellar to decide to step back and focus on their family.

The fact that they can do that and still work in a way that provides that family a great lifestyle is just awesome.

Michael Schoeffling played heart throb Jake Ryan in 16 Candles and Kuch in Vision Quest. A few other roles before and after, then quit Hollywood to become a carpenter and build furniture.

After 16 Candles he was leading man “it” status and walked away.

Kinda crazy, but I respect him for knowing what he wanted to do with his life.

There was like a four year period where people in Hollywood were trying desperately to make Jai Courtney a star

I’ve referenced this trope before but Jai Courtney, Sam Worthington, Joel Edgerton, Joel Kinnamon, and Boyd Holbrook are all interchangeable as actors. Outside of maybe Carbon Black with Kinnamon, none of them would have made any other role better or worse.

None of them are bad by any means but their current career is their ceiling.

And I think some people are misinterpreting fizzle. SMG and FPJ were acting well into the 2010s and have publicly stated they like keeping it low key. Most people on here just never made it huge but are still acting today.

Lindsey Lohan was a fizzle. Amanda Bynes was a fizzle. Taylor Lautner was a fizzle.
