re: Spin Off from OT - What Movie\TV celebrities have you met and how was the experience?
Maybe it's because Robert Duvall is so unique and is so good as an actor but I think I would be absolutely awestruck to meet him. More so than anybody I can think of. I met Kelly Rutherford from Melrose Place at a restaurant I was working at a couple of years. I guess she was filming something in Buckhead and she walked in and asked if I knew where a Chipotle was

I was at a trip club in San Antonio and MJ and Rodman were there. I went to pee and Jordan’s security guy made me wait until MJ was finished even though there were 3 other urinals. MJ apologized about it as we passed each other. After I pee’d, i ran into Rodman because I was staring at the corner of the club where MJ was surrounded by strippers.
Rodman was very nice asked if I was ok, and apologized to me also...weird night getting apologies from both in one night.

My daughter and I also were invited to some film sets and met some actors and directors who gave her autographed DVDs and film crew gear. She had a knack for meeting people. One day I was surprised by a photo posted on her Facebook of her being hugged by Quentin Tarantino. Jamie Foxx played piano and sang for her.

In his slight defense, I met him while I was working at a hotel. When he arrived he had been traveling most of the day and the lobby was crowded so he got mobbed by several people when he walked in. I think he was just ready to get to his room and unplug, so it's possible I just caught him at a bad time.

Modern Family's Sarah Hyland was starring in a movie shot near my place of work, once. She ventured into our building and asked me if we had a public restroom. I said yes and pointed her in the right direction. She thanked me on the way out. How's that for a brush with fame?

While working in fashion retail in Baton Rouge, my wife has interacted with Patrick Dempsey, Rebel Wilson, Anna Faris, Anna Kendrick, and Jennifer Love Hewitt. That's not a bad haul. She said nice things about all of them. Dempsey was especially friendly; he even took pics with the staff.

There was a question I really wanted to ask my wife about Hewitt, but couldn't find a way to ask delicately. She told me Hewitt was quite short, but that's not what I was looking for...

Jealous. Probably my all time favorite actor, and one of the few I think I'd actually be interested in talking to (or listening to, rather).

My sister was good friends with Bette Midler in high school so she used to spend the night at our house. Sadly the memories are ruined by her politics now.

Not a movie/TV celeb but I sat next to Bert Jones on a flight from Dallas to BR in the 70's. He was super nice and asked me if I needed a ride home but unfortunately my boyfriend was at the airport to pick me up.

Met Carol O’Conner when filming In The Heat of the Night...friendly and consummate professional. I was half expecting and Archie Bunker type a-hole and was pleasantly surprised.

Early 2000s I met Lenny Kravitz at a certain adult bar on Bourbon Street. I was lit on all kinds of stuff but just said “Man I love your work”. His reply was smooth as silk and we chatted briefly. Very cool.

Same time frame was at the Casino downtown Nola and in an elevator Steve Harvey came in with a few peeps, had a total a-hole “whatever, anyway” vibe.

John Goodman at Langensteins in Old Metairie, very hungover looking but very cool.

Met Jerry Van Dyke one morning in downtown Little Rock as he sat outside a little restaurant on the sidewalk tables. This was the mid 90s just after he finished Coach, so he was still kind of a big deal. He was just out in the open drinking a cup of coffee.

I was walking by and just stumbled upon him, did a bit of a double take and with a smile said.... "Oh Hey." He just kind of nodded and smiled back, and said hello. Very very low key. Very unassuming. Seemed friendly.
.
Looked much older in person than he did on TV at the time. I believe he married a woman from Arkansas and basically retired there.

In 1995, I traveled for 10 hours on an a bus going to the 4th Annual Dixie Trek expecting to meet Wil Wheaton so that he could sign my Wesley Crusher action figure. But he didn't show up. He has been my mortal enemy ever since.

re: Spin Off from OT - What Movie\TV celebrities have you met and how was the experience?
Jerry O'Connell- one of the most delightful people I've ever met. He invited my friend and me out to meet his group at a bar later that night and we had a blast

Matt Leblanc- worked an F1 party where he was a guest and I ended up being his personal cocktail. Super fun and very handsome, and I managed to get a "how YOU doin'" out of him when I asked

Adrian Grenier-quiet but nice

Ethan Hawke- Excellent tipper!

Jared Padalecki- met backstage at a concert, shared our bottle of vodka with him. Cool as shite.

Josh Lucas- met at a premiere, went to have drinks at the W, later made out so clearly he's an okay guy

Taylor Kitsch- total douchebag

Mike Judge- my former neighbor and my actual friend. He fricking rules, obviously.

My best friend was in "Everybody Wants Some" so I guess she counts.

Plenty of celebrity chefs. Graham Elliot is actually really cool, and Andrew Zimmern is a total sweetheart. Tim Love is a twat. Blais was nice, Gail Simmons is one of the most beautiful, elegant, wonderful people I've ever met. I was in awe of her. Antonia Lofaso loves vodka so I like her.

In the 1980's when I was in the Air Force, Mr. T was at the Base Exchange complex signing autographs. He's a short dude. The thing that stuck out was he very politely stood up to address the crowd and asked the adults to allow the kids to be moved to the front so they could get some time with him. Pretty cool.

Just like the time I could have met Mr. T at the mall. The entire day, I kept saying, "I'll go a little later, I'll go a little later..." And when I got there, they told me he just left. And when I asked the mall guy if he'll ever come back again, he said he didn't know.

re: Spin Off from OT - What Movie\TV celebrities have you met and how was the experience?
In 1995 (I think), some friends and I had dinner with Carrot Top, Jamie Fox, and Vendela in Panama City during Spring Break. We were the only 2 groups in the restaurant, and they asked us to join them.

Carrot top was cool, easy to talk to, and really had no ego. Funny guy, but a lot less funny than you would expect. Vendela looked great, but she was quiet. Like really quiet.

Jamie Fox was nice, but my friends and I acted like we didn’t know who he was. Asked him if he had been in anything that we heard of. He named a few of his roles and we said, nope, we didn’t know him. He slowly became enraged, which just spurred us to continue the act. Kept naming role after role and we didn’t give in. Carrot top made fun of him repeatedly that we didn’t know who he was. Eventually Jamie gave up trying to play the Don’t You Know who I am game.

The end of the night was the best, as Carrot Top’s credit card was rejected, and the waiter told him in front of all of us. He wasn’t Steroid Carrot top yet, but the rage and embarrassment came out. He called his manager and told him (yelling) to get it straightened out immediately. We paid our bill and bolted, as the situation was becoming a dumpster fire quickly.

Looking back, we should have stayed til the very end. I wonder who ended up paying.
