Variant Dr Strange

Strange Supreme wouldn't make sense as, in What If?, he's basically guarding Zola and Killmonger in the pocket dimension.

I’m pretty confident there’s a very central villain in this movie. You have seen him in the trailer even if you don’t know it.

I'm going to make a bold prediction. Doctor Doom enters and the after credit scene has Strange meeting Reed Richards.

Edit: Thus ending the Spider MCU trilogy and setting up a Fantastic Four one.

This film already seems busy af to introduce F4

Is that end shot of Strange atop Statue of Liberty in all black? Definitely lends to a variant-Strange as others have suggested ITT

I don’t see how he is. I just think Mephisto is manipulating everyone in this film.

I said a variant, not that particular one.

I don’t see NWH setting up anything for the F4 but if it does it’ll likely be Avengers Tower being transformed into the Baxter Building or Johnny Storm being Peter’s college roommate assuming Ned dies or has his mind erased

Not sure why people assume he's the secret villain in every Marvel product.

Seems like a lot to show in a trailer
I would have not shown as much as they did especially the part with MJ falling
I still am not thrilled with Venom entering the mix but I guess the Sony Disney Marvel deal was dependent on merging the two while being nostalgic to the Sony movies from the past
I still think they should have done some more Spideys with Garfield as that storyline still had a lot to tell

I don't know what you guys are talking about I thought that was an awesome trailer. Showed the villains which we all expected but didn't give away any major scenes or fights and kept the other Spideys a secret. Looks like Holland's spider-man might finally have found his match in these villains and a lot is at stake.

I just assumed it was Bully Maguire from Spiderman 3.

Agreed but it’s somewhat warranted here since No Way Home seems to be very loosely based on the “One More Day” storyline.

I still think it’s just Doctor Strange being a pompous arse and screwing things up in the process.

Marvel should introduce Mephisto and show a montage of how he was behind every other villain in the Marvel film universe, just so the fans can scream, "I KNEW IT."

I’ve thought of something I don’t think that’s going to happen but it’d be interesting and cool and kind of put an end to the largely terrible Amazing Spider-Man arc in a satisfying way: in another parallel version of that specific universe, what if it’s Gwen who has been bitten by the spider and Peter is killed eventually in a reverse? She interned at Oscorp, so all that’s needed is wrong place wrong time like Peter was.

Then she falls into the multiverse and sees Garfield’s Peter as Spider-Man, and in the end choose to go back into one of their own realities together. I’m not sure if we can rule out Spider-Gwen in this, especially how involved she typically is in the Spiderverse.

They can't use Gwen until Mile Morales show up, she is his Mary Jane fyi. Has been for like...6 years now and still going strong.

The Spidermen I’m guessing are still different ages. Can still do that as well in this universe. I’m just saying in a slight different reality that Stone’s Gwen gets bit, you can end up with that resolution to Garfield’s Spider-Man. You can cast someone else as another reality’s Gwen and make that still work.

Speaking of especially with Holland’s recent insistence, I would not be surprised if we got Miles Morales in this. More as a cliffhanger and towards the end of the movie, but would not be surprised if they’ve found a young actor and for him to be Holland’s replacement in some way.

EDIT: Plus there’s also an older Gwen in Macguire’s universe, so we’re good on another Spider-Gwen from this or another universe.

EDIT 2: BTW to back up this theory, Electro does not look like he does in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. What if Electro kills Spider-Gwen’s Peter and acquires his powers by different means? I think that is something that should be very much considered.
