Spartacus is still alive, and he will be 100 in December.

Andy Whitfield was about to become a major star, years from now few will know about him.

I have 2 of his autographs, as well as almost all the cast of Spartacus.

It is nice to see so many from that cast doing well now in the biz.

First season was far and away the best. The guy the got to come in and replace him did a good job but if Andy hadn't died, it would have been Starz GOAT original show.

I ask you, who cannot relate to Batiatus? Verily, he speaks for the human condition.

Once again the gods...

I really liked this show and have watched it several times through various airings. Batiatis was such a good actor, but I agree with others, Whitfield would have become a star. The prequel seasons were good though, maybe not as good as the original, and beyond the sex and violence there were some good storylines and acting.

No sh*t. This board has been taken over by a bunch of young punks that probably think Picard was the best Starfleet Captain. They probably all love soccer too.

i actually liked season 2 a bunch. maybe not more than season 1 though. Ganicus' final battle in the arena was so freaking boss.

One of the most entertaining shows I have seen. Andy Whitfield would have carried that show on his back for a long time. Prequels were good with Gannicus, but to have Whitfield be the one leading the charge to end the series would have been phenomenal.
