Southland Season Finale "Thursday" 3/20/12 (Episode Summary in OP)

No offense to Lydia but I would be totally fine with her not being back next season. She sucks as a character and her storyline has been getting on my nerves for a while.

Great episode, great season. Really hope they get another season with TNT....I'll be pissed if this show gets canned.

Ben is starting to scare me. He's headed to a dark place in his mind. He's been acting like the POS cops we see in the news lately. Hopefully Sammy can straighten him out next season and he'll be good as new.
I wonder why Ben didn't tell the mom that ronnie didn't frick him up, more like he fricked ronnie up. Instead, he just told her to stay safe. Hmmm....
I love everything Cooper and Tang did tonight. Tang getting that guy to sing was hilarious. I still would have wrote his arse up with a ticket. I've come across shits like him every now and then BR traffic and would love nothing more to frick his day up.
Good to see Lydia is leaving. Her storyline sucked.

Ben is starting to scare me. He's headed to a dark place in his mind. He's been acting like the POS cops we see in the news lately. Hopefully Sammy can straighten him out next season and he'll be good as new.

That entire seen at the end kind of foreshadowed what could be up on the horizon between those two.
Overall this was a great season and i actually feel like this show isn't in transition from the NBC years anymore.But, IMHO the final 2 minutes had a kind of series finale feel to it.

For one thing the story about Ben's family has been completely dropped. Ben has had a history of overly pursuing male suspects that attack women. That's why i was somewhat surprised at the fact that he hit that high school earlier in the season....thats not to say she didn't deserve some punishment in some shape or form.
Ben's character has gone thru some major transformations thru out the series.

This is true. He went nuts about his mom's rapist and that was it. He has been a Knight to women this whole series.

I'm think that the shooting will ultimately be justified. Im gonna go with Sammy not really believing him and maybe they do a flash back of it. I think Ben wanted to get the pimp back but I don't think he planted the gun. Guess we will have to wait and see.

I thought last night was a great episode. This was a really good season for the show and I really hope they bring it back.

How long after a season ends until they usually decide on filming the next one? And I was wrong, thought for sure Tang was gonna get shot by season's end.....and she gets promoted.

Pretty solid season finale last night. I watched it pretty late in the night so I missed the correlation between the gun cleaning scene and Sherman planting the gun. 
I agree with the poster who said it felt like a series finale last night. Especially showing Cooper harassing the new boot, Lydia fading off the show with her new baby on the way, Sherman getting his revenge on the pimp, Tang promoted and moving on, etc. I wonder where they go from here...

Wasn't the biggest Sammie fan in the earliest seasons (particularly when he was dealing with his wife...that made him look soft), but this season he came on strong.
