There's definitely still hilarious parts in each episode FWIW. I just think there has been a noticeable quality drop off from them when they weren't trying to be so in the mix with pop culture or political.
Most of my favorite episodes don't really have anything to with current events. Christian Rock Hard, Scott Tenorman Must Die, Good Times with Weapons, The Losing Edge etc.

In the Covid special, right after they signed their last giant contract, they had Trump murder the scientist who cured covid because, as the show explained, Trump wanted covid to last forever so he could keep everyone cooped up and under his thumb. So, the opposite of the truth. Then, 5 seconds later, they say 'there's a big election coming up, be sure to vote.'
Making fun of something because it's true is one thing but telling straight up lies because you sold out and your lawyer is also Hunter Biden's lawyer is quite another.

Well I came in here wondering why the episode thread was so long, but I see it’s chock full of political bullshite and not really about the actual episode. So I’ll just add my two cents and move on.
I liked it. The trump stuff got a little weird but it felt like a huge frick you to a lot of things/people. And those are usually solid SP episodes. Loved Cartman being confused now that he wasn’t the only one being racist and whatnot. And he and Butters got pretty dark, but the electric car was hilarious.
And by far, the best thing about this episode was them finally and officially ditching the “Garrison as Trump” thing. That was stupid as frick from the start. Glad they finally moved on from that dumb shite.
Hopefully this is them getting back to form a bit.
