I guess, but they could have at least said that. Instead, he just shows up at the end as a drunken homeless guy, with no real explanation.
I never really gave it a thought. It's kind of like the ending of Back to the Future and Biff is a loser, washing the McFly's cars. I don't need a detailed history to understand how Biff ended up there after the past was changed slightly. That's left to the imagination and I'm cool with that.

This is true, though even satire of current tv and movies works for them too. Like the Family Guy episode.
I could see them doing a western-themed episode on The Mandalorian this season

Biff is a dumb jock, though. Cartman is too much of a sociopath to "do nothing with his life" as Kyle says at the end. Plus, his jewish identity was so obviously fake, with a wife named Yentl and screaming about Abraham while having sex.
It just seemed like they had something else planned but that it was overruled for whatever reason and they just said "frick it, we'll make him a homeless guy."

It was just a riff on the time travel / changing history and movie trope (think the end of the Planet of the Apes, BTTF specifically)
I think it was clear what they were doing, but I also could see how it misses people that aren't thinking about those call backs.
****ETA (Saw this SUB after I posted, but 100% this)

Yeah, the ending was disappointing IMO. Was lazy and idealistic which is surprising coming from Matt and Trey. I think they have been corrupted a bit by the very societal forces that they used to mock.
I can't blame them for not giving much of a frick anymore. Hard to rail against stuff when you have frick you money and have lived a comfortable life for decades doing whatever you want.

Not only that, but the world is 100% opposite and has flipped from the 1990s and that style of humor which made them popular and rise to fame.
I was thinking about this the other day with Rage against the machine, Neil Young, and many many more and how they are literally on the opposite side of their original stance and who they ARE.
I don't even know how you keep up anymore, Matt and Trey have endured but even they have to be scratching their heads of what to parody in 2022. Maybe this does give us the return to form SP, we'll see. They could save the topical stuff for P+

Ya it's rough out here from a material standpoint. The world is already a parody of itself with the amount of daily absurdity. I have no idea how you would keep something seeming fresh after 25 seasons

stills from the episode tonight... anything with the cops (especially Yates) usually gets me

Seeing as how the premise involves PCP taking away pajama day from the class, and the cops are all in pajamas, I have high hopes.

Mr. mackey’s voice is way off. Halfway through and waiting for something funny to happen. Sigh, I miss old South Park.

That’s 6:00 in Colorado. Ridiculous to air it that early.
