Damn, that was the contract that was almost a billion dollars, right? I wonder what's going on for them to drop all of that content off of their service.

Yep, $900 million. I believe they still had 2 years left on their contract from what I read. Parker and Stone have been pretty vocal about how displeased they are with Paramount and that they are causing problems.

I have to assume T&M are meeting their end of the contract in terms of creating episodes and specials. And I'm sure the bulk of the money was basically for the rights to air the show on their platform (I assume it's popular on streaming?).

But that's a lot of money for what amounts to a few 6-episode seasons and a handful of specials.

If I'm not mistaken, Paramount gave South Park a helluva "handshake" deal, and incoming Skydance does not want to honor it.

I wonder how Starvin' Marvin comes back?

Maybe he’ll be pissed off that USAID got cut. Looks like Jesus is coming back too.

So is this going to be streaming on HBO Max the day after like prior seasons? Or am I going to have to subscribe to Paramount+ now to watch it?

HBO Max no longer has streaming rights (expired in June).

Interesting that the creators of South Park were fighting for a 10yr deal worth 2 billion, but settled for a 5yr deal worth 1.5 billion. I don't really see the loss.

Is that for new episodes only? Because I'm pretty sure I saw South Park on the HBO Max app the other day.

I can't believe we're this close to airing and the plot hasn't been posted.

Never mind.
