Appreciate the post OP. Came to this board just to look for something I could watch tonight. I saw a commercial for this but forgot about it shortly after. It's been years since I've watched south park. Gonna roll one up and hopefully enjoy this like the good old days.

I’d go a step further and say it comments how both of these two groups just continually fuel each other so it never ends.

That's what they've done for 20 years. Do people still not understand that?

I've been saying this for years. They beat him into the ground.

South Park should be about the 4 boys and their hijinks. It basically turned into the Randy Marsh show.

Agreed. Death to Tegrity.

I fell asleep halfway through this one. Not as bad as The Streaming Wars, but definitely not up to speed

Explain that logic.

Nearly every major publicly traded corporation on earth has gone woke in almost the exact time frame. Disney is just one of the most egregious. And yeah, now you have their CEO saying they're scaling down the "culture wars" and they're having their asses handed to them on several of their more "progressive" franchise adaptations. I'd say they're not doubling down at all. Disney may wind up being sold from the damage it has contributed to them.

South Park pussed out.

By giving even the slightest hint that "muh both sides" is to blamed is a cowardly lie.

The Left started trying to ram this down the Publics' throat, the Right is only counter-punching.

And? I thought they made it clear this was the case in the episode.

Overall, I enjoyed the episode. I give it a B+. So glad we are still getting South Park episodes, over 25 years later. I wish they'd do more, but anything at this point is just a bonus as I never expected this show to last even half as long as it has.

Yeah, that's just stupid. Every recent Disney movie and show could be all white males, and they would still be awful.

'Haters' are just reacting to the crap they see. If there is any element of spiteful reaction from Disney, it's ALL still on them.

And honestly, I don't know why there aren't class action lawsuits filed by stockholders against all of these DEI companies. They are willfully doing things that they know will tank the stock prices. Seems pretty textbook to me.

ETA: the only time Disney overreacts to things that happen on social media, it's when they're pandering to crybullies who want Gina Carano fired.

Watched this today. I enjoyed it: it was solid. I enjoyed both main storylines….the handyman one was especially great.

I just wish we’d get seasons, even if shortened ones. I miss “normal” SP where the focus is on the kids and the stupid shite kids get into. The Tegridy thing has run its course. The PC shite has run its course. The “season long plot” have run their course. Etc. Just give me the boys fricking around and making fun of each other.

It’s weird that they signed a nearly billion dollar deal, yet we get less SP than ever.

They haven't done this since the Garrison/Trump season blew up in their faces because they had it mapped out as if Hilary were to win.

So basically, the episode parrots the Disney line that racist/sexist trolls are the real reason these movies keep getting made this way, and if we'd just stop calling them out, the movies would get better.

Yea, it's a pretty dumb position to take. All we have to do is just ignore how terrible these movies/shows are.

So SP made a whole show on the very topic all those basement dwelling INCELS have been whining about for how many years?

Guess they were right about it all this time after all, huh?

But that logic doesn’t even make any sense.

Of course it does not make sense. It’s an idiotic idea. But it’s a backhanded way of blaming the dreaded alt-right etc.

Nope.

There's been some throughlines in some seasons, but the episodes themselves have been self-contained.

The member berries/2016 election season basically had each episode picking up right after the last one.

Most of them.

Tegridy farms
The whole Cartman girlfriend storyline
Cartman losing his house
Garrison brought back as Trump
PC Principal and that whole thing

Those are just off the top of my head. But I'm sure there are others. And don't get me wrong, it's not as bad/much as it was previously. But it is definitely still there.
