Was an amazing show! Cutthroat Korean work environment shows always reel me in.
I’m curious how realistic this portrayal is. On one hand you see Koreans suing or pressing charges and getting ruined for the slightest things but in the workplace seniors can physically/emotionally abuse and sexually harass juniors and it’s totally fine? If so I can see why they stay drunk.
I’m about 3/4 of the way through and the acting is superb. Are there similar shows you recommend? The only other one I remember watching that showed a lot of the workplace was My Mister and that was a very different vibe.
I added the other 2 shows to my watchlist.

Don’t remember anything as intense as Misaeng, or My Mister. Maybe try Itaewon Class or Start Up. Not solely as focused on work environment as Misaeng, but still compelling stories.
*The boss in Misaeng gave one of the best acting portrayals that I’ve ever seen in a tv show. He was so amazing!

Do you mean Mr. Oh? Head of Sales Team 3? If so I agree 100%. I definitely want to watch other shows he’s been in. The actors playing Geu-Rae and Seok-Yul (textile team newbie) have knocked it out of the park too.
The actor playing Seok-Yul was Kim Hui-Seong in Mr. Sunshine and one of the leads in Six Flying Dragons. It took me several episodes to realize it was the same actor.
Itaewon Class was ok. Start Up is on my watch list.

Yes. I don’t think I’ve seen him in anything’s else. He’s fantastic!

Loved 3/4 of it but it did kinda fall flat at the end.

Just started Moving on Hulu. It’s based on some really popular webtoon. 8.6 on IMDB which is very good. LINK I’m 2 episodes in and it seems a little bit like Heroes in that some otherwise ordinary people have abilities.
There are 3 high school students with abilities who are the focus of the show. There is an older generation of “retired”people with abilities, possibly including these students’ parents, who are being hunted by an assassin while they live normal lives hiding in plain sight.

Give Mask Girl a try. Quirky, strange, ‘revenge’ type show.

I’ve been watching “Missing: The Other Side” on Netflix
It started a little slow in the first episode but it’s fantastic
The South Koreans are awesome at interweaving story lines and building up tension.

Just added, Missing: The Other Side, to My List. Looks interesting. Thanks for the recommendation! Yes, the Korean entertainment film industry has some amazing talent. The acting, but especially the writing, is really fantastic.

I just finished a 2nd watch of "My Name"(Netflix) and still enjoyed the hell out of it. Its Korean mob revenge limited series.
These Korean shows do a great job of story and character building.
My favorite Korean movie is "Man from Nowhere"-- watched multiple time.
I also think Native language with subtitles are best.

I finally finished and I am such a fan of him. I thought all of the main characters were superb but he was outstanding.

Heroes is probably the closest show to it. The basic plot is regular people with powers that are trying to keep themselves and their kids off the radar of the South Korean CIA who wants to put them to work doing spy/assassin stuff, while the US CIA and the North Korean CIA are both using their own powered people to try and hunt them down and kill them.

It gets better from there. Episode 7 has some great car chase scenes and fantastic fight scenes.

I didn't realize I had just watched episode 7 when I posted.
The flow from scene to scene was absolutely awesome that episode.
I usually hate car chases,80s and 90's wore me out.
This one had me laughing at first and then alot of different emotions up to the box truck.
The rest of the family wanted to watch so I have been able to rewatch up to episode 8.
Love that it's 20 episodes

Just finished Moving
All I can say is WOW
This show REALLY picks up at the mid-way point when it starts focusing on the parents
The first third of the season is all world building and character development but the payoff is phenomenal at the end
This show is like a heartfelt version of “The Boys” but with way better characters

Really hope this finds its way to Netflix. Just finishing up, Under The Queen’s Umbrella. Excellent show. A complex, compelling story about the Queen in the Josean era’s desire to elevate one of her mischievous sons to succeed by becoming the crown prince. Amazing cinematography, a beautiful score, and all the major and minor characters are top notch actors.

That scene when the idiot dad showed up at the end and hulked out was incredible
So many great scenes in the last few episodes that the writers took time to build up
I have a theory that, down the line, there will be a legitimate Superman bred with all the major powers.

Moving was a great 20 hours of viewing.
We even cooked some donkatsu
I followed that with The Uncanny Counter.
Didn't think i would stick with it but it grew on me each episode that I started watching 2 episodes a night.
Not sure which show to go for next.

I don’t know if they’ll do it again this year, but for the last 4 years Hulu has had a $2 a month for a year Black Friday deal. If they do it again it’s well worth $2 a month, even with commercials.
