Does season 1 wrap things up or end on a cliffhanger?
It has one of those endings where you go "NIIIIIICE" and then immediately wonder what would happen next.
So yea, a cliffhanger, but a nicely done cliffhanger that gave the season an honest ending.
While I am here - Crowned Clown is excellent. It's a little slow and more aimed for the ladies but the story line is great.

About to start Under The Queen’s Umbrella. Looks promising!

Ive been trying to get through Arthdan Cronicles for a month now.
I get why some of you probably love it, but man this thing drags much in spots. Its like everyone in the cast was guaranteed an equal amount of screen time, so you get to see every reveal repeated 2 or 3 times with different characters. Then they have an extensive internal and external dialogue to go with it
Also been disappointed with the poor scaling of the show. Everything is supposed to be huge and massive, with large armies etc, but you never see more than a few dozen on screen at a time.
I am watching ep 12 tonight so hopefully it doesn't disappoint. i dont hate the show by any means, just did not live up to the hype you guys gave it.

I know not to judge a K show on the first or sometimes second episode but the first episode was so cheesy I would have been out if it had not been your recommendation. Since it sounds like a solid ending this will definitely end up being in my top shows.

I’m glad you like it because I recommended it and I’m a lady. I hesitate to recommend shows sometimes because what I like may not be appealing to the majority of male posters. The Crowned Clown story is great but the range of the actor is pretty incredible. I’d only seen him play nice guys or dorky kids before. I’m not sure how far in you are but there’s one scene I watched several times. I think you’ll know it when you see it. So well done.

Arthdal was a little tough for me too. It was a little odd and hard to follow sometimes but I became very invested in it and was pissed when I got to the end and realized it would have another season lol. In the end I really liked it but like you I did question sticking with it at times.
If anyone else is thinking of watching I would recommend waiting until season 2 has a Netflix release date. I have forgotten so much I will have to watch it again.

I can see how AC could be a tough watch, but it just resonated with me. Without giving anything away, I just loved the struggle upwards from the depths of despair for so many of the main characters. Just when you think things can’t get much worse they do, and then the fight to dig themselves out was so superbly satisfying for me. The political intrigue also captivated me, though it was somewhat tough to follow at times. As with most K dramas, the very large supporting cast also has long complex storylines of their own. Also an appeal for me.
Good luck to the end!

Thats the problem, to a T.
in 11 episodes, no one but the Taigon dude seems to have progressed in any significant manner

Its cause Korea is like 10 years or so behind the United States in terms of culture. Look forward to them catching up with SJW messaging.

Finished all but 10 mins of the last episode of Arthdal last night
I am sorry, because I know there's some great taste in this thread, but I just don't get it.
The "great" scenes are so few and far between. There are no real plot twists that aren't telegraphed throughout, only a few named characters die, and zero secks despite lots of hot Koreans.
I didnt hate it, I just didnt get the hype, if that makes sense. The girl becomes the head priest and thats about it?

I started watching Alchemy of Souls last night. It's cheesy but I'm loving it after 5 episodes.

It was a really fun, enjoyable show.

Beautiful, and can act.

Alchemy of Souls is awesome...
finished part 2-episode 6 last Sunday.
Part 2 is very fast paced once you get to the end of episode 5.
Buckle up the last 4 are all action packed.

Can’t wait! Wanted to start Under The Queen’s Umbrella, but the wife wanted to go with When The Camellia Blooms. Really enjoying it. Another broad based story focusing on so many things: a romance, parental relationships between parents and kids, lighthearted comedy, and a murder mystery. Very entertaining!

Good to know. I loved the first season. Im going to wait for the final episodes before watching.
I’m almost finished with Hotel del Luna, which has been really good. I’m looking for a great (but not 40-50 episodes long) historical drama next. Does anyone have recommendations that haven’t been mentioned yet? Viki is an option too.
