I’m around 5 episodes in on Arthdal Chronicles. Really good - the story just keeps building and getting better. Episodes are a tad long, but worth it. Thanks for the recommendation - never would have given this a watch otherwise due to the subtitles.

I also started Arthdal Chronicles last night due to this thread. Watched the first 2 episodes. The first episode was great but the 2nd was a chore for the first 2/3 then the last 1/3 saved it with the Saram invading. Looking forward to continuing

It's a shame people don't give it a chance because they don't want to read subtitles.

I'll watch the odd movie, but I'm not watching whole series reading subtitles.

There are some good ones that I’ve stumbled across.

-A Taxi Driver
-Seoul Station is a prequel to Train to Busan
-The Chaser

What’s great about korean movie is that it’s 100% plot driven. There’s no room for political injections.

South Korean Shows on Netflix

I'll give it a try. Currently most everything I watch (not only Netflix) is from Europe. I won't give up on US programming but I have it on pause for a while.

I’m so glad I took another recommendation from the TV/Movie board. I never thought about watching Kdrama until reading this. I started with Crash Landing on You after seeing it here and having it recommended from outside the board too. I really liked it and don’t remember watching a series where there are so many side characters that are scene stealers.

You definitely have to watch a few episodes to get a feel for the show. It definitely becomes a Game of Thrones type of show, though with much less grandeur (but just as much conniving and backstabbing). Takes a little while to learn who the characters are, and once you’re really into the storyline it’s quite a different show than the first couple episodes.

Very much has an “anime” feel to it. And it’s very much loaded with hot Asian chicks. I just finished the season last night. Well worth the watch.

I just finished the season too. I haven’t enjoyed a series this much since some of the earlier seasons of GoT.

It would make an amazing book series.

There’s only one rule you really need to know in Arthdal...

Don’t screw with the MOMO Tribe

Sisyphus is a new show that I’ve enjoyed so far. It’s a sci-fi time travel conspiracy thriller.

Mr Sunshine (working my way to this but hear great things)

I just finished Mr. Sunshine and it was great. Loved Goo Dong Mae, Hina, Kim Hui Seong and some of the recurring characters so much more than the “leads”, though. That is one thing I’ve noticed about the kdramas. Almost everyone in the cast makes the most of their screen time.

Since some movies are mentioned here are some other ones I’ve watched recently that were top notch:

The Burning
The Handmaiden
The Man from Nowhere
The Wailing
