JJ is a weasel. I just want to see him play out ASAP.

I mean, they knew Star Wars movies = $$$.
They were mostly correct

The “ending that will blow your mind” was a part of this. Older actors were included like Hayden, Ewan and Samuel and anyone who wasn’t animated. The force ghosts weren’t meant to be voices because they shot that footage on camera. The actors were in costumes. Rey was supposed to be surrounded by the force ghosts to serve as sort of a barrier between her and the Sith surrounding them.
My source thinks but can’t 100% confirm that this is because of China. It’s an office talk of sorts. Some VFX people claimed they got a list of approved shades of blue they could use on the Luke force ghosts. Cutting this out was when the bad blood turned into a nightmare for JJ because the movie he was making was suddenly unrecognizable to him in almost every way.
My source knows JJ well enough to know that he’s just not the yelling type but apparently in a meeting he yelled something along the lines of “Why don’t you just put ‘directed and written by Lucasfilm’ then?” My source wasn’t present for that exchange but knows some who were.
This would have been so much better. South Park was right.

It did say JJ wanted FinnPoe to be a thing but nothing was written or shot.
Okay, so?
If a gay relationship is the catalyst for a person to determine if a movie is good or bad, that's sad.

how is DC/WB a threat to Marvel/StarWars/Disney?
If anything, you'd think Disney would want DC to be good, and continue the trend of superhero movies, instead of having to do all the work themselves.
I don't understand the logic behind the threat one company puts on the other when it comes to blockbuster movies. The only competition you have is if a movie goer wants to take the time out of their life to watch your movie. Another movie doesn't really impact that decision.
Make a good movie and people will go see it. It's really simple.

You've got some good thoughts in your post, but one question:
Do you know that people pay for entertainment with money, and that not everyone has an unlimited entertainment budget?

Yeah, and they don’t matter in this at all b/c they don’t go see movies.
Do you know that hundreds of millions of people have enough money to go to the movies if they so choose too?

Im still just in shock Disney bought Star Wars, green lit a trilogy, and then didn’t even have a story arc for a trilogy laid out before filming the first episode of said trilogy.
How? Why?
Baffling
Disney just saw a potential cash cow with merchandising to the current generation of kids.

They'll reboot it... and instead of "Luke, I am your father", we'll get "Luke, I'm really a woman on the inside. Keeping these feelings bottled up inside me is why I'm so evil and bitter. Now that I've come out, things will be different." "Oh, Mother, how wonderful."

You just listed one great movie, one mediocre movie, and one bad movie. I'm not sure what you're implying here.
A billion dollar film, a film that did very well, and a small budget film that hit a billion and is one of the most profitable films in the past few years.
JJ isn't raising a sinking ship, he's helping a franchise that is rebounding phenomenally.

Why do they view DC as a potential threat? High quality comic book films would probably stimulate demand and continue to mainstream what once was a niche genre. A good DC movie takes money away from lower quality movies IMO, not Marvel’s flagship franchises.
If anything DC putting out garbage makes people less likely to want to see comic book films. I really don’t think the casual viewers know or care which super belongs to which brand.

I'm not suggesting they don't. My point is that not everyone has an unlimited budget and as such they have to choose how to spend their money.
Disney is competing for the worlds entertainment dollars with all other entertainment content producers. That's why it matters to Disney that company X isn't successful.

And there it is. Reddit crap is reddit crap. What does the cons did even mean here? Is it saying that you can't have ghosts in Chinese cinema? There's a long history of Chinese cinema heavily featuring ghosts.
