start with My Left Foot...
Move to Last of the Mohicans
then In the name of the Father
Then Gangs of NY
Age of Innocent
There will be Blood
then cry

Excellent movie even if his other movies fall outside your taste.

Then you missed the greatest lead performance in movie history: DDL in "My Left Foot".

Because you don't watch enough movies.

Co-starring the pigeon lady from Home Alone 2 (who also won an Oscar for her role as DDL's mom).

DDL is one of the greatest actors of all time, but most (not all) of his movies are a total snoozefest.

You should watch Last of the Mohicans. I think its still on Netflix.

Watch Last of the Mohicans.
That is one of my favorite movies.

The Crucible is the only move I've seen of his, and that's only because I saw it in school.

I can't believe that The Boxer has been forgotten to history. Even in a film about DDL, no one is bringing up this, frankly, devastating film about the Troubles. My Left Foot is still his masterpiece, but The Boxer is my favorite DDL movie. In the Name of Father is a close second for me.
I tend to like his more "common man" roles. TWBB screams "acting!" like the old Jon Lovitz character. It's too over the top for my tastes.
