So I’m watching all the Marvel movies in timeline order. One question I’m reconciling.

Why wouldn’t any threat realized after first Avengers film not be “Avengers” threat.

Captain America Winter Soldier. Shield is under attack. DC is falling apart. Major damage is being taken, but nobody else shows up? Cap is on his own?

I know this is made up movies but you can’t get me to believe this universe works in a vacuum when Iron Man 3 established Iron Man can go LA to Tenn in 3 hours.

Maybe this isn’t a big deal moving forward since Ultron kind of changed the game and ushers in next series of characters.

Just some minor continuity issues.

Because they're all busy dealing with their own stuff off screen.

They actually will explain why certain characters weren't around in their own movies. Thor is off world, Banner really hated being the hulk. Widow was off with her Russian family.

Though I agree the ONE movie where I think the Avengers would have assembled is Winter Soldier. Though to be fair Shield going bad happened in a total a a couple of hours and Steve didn't call for help.

Civil War was the only non Avengers movie with the full Avengers. (Minus those in Ragnorock)

This has been a comic book "plot hole" since they started. I actually had had letter to the editor published complaining about it when I was a kid.

We just have to accept in a Captain America comic or movie, Cap us going to be the hero. Sometimes in a comic, they might have a panel or two showing how others were dealing with the problem, but I guess that's too expensive for a movie.

I think this is my other disappointment with the franchise. After Avengers 1, Hulk kind of starts becoming a p****y.

Then in Infinity War/Endgame he finally becomes full clown.

Just a disservice to the character.

it really makes me wish we had 2 Civil War movies in one year. Give us Captain America: Civil War and Iron Man: Civil War. Tell the story over 4 hours. I think that could have been fun...but I also just want more MCU movies

That would have kicked arse, actually. Same events, different perspectives.

Comic book trope. Especially in the Marvel Universe where almost all of the superheroes are clustered in NYC.

The same suspension of disbelief that allows for secret identities and characters returning from extended adventures to find their jobs and apartments still in place.

It's sad the current MCU didn't make a better Hulk movie.
Norton's hulk was so forgettable and it's odd that the current hulk is stopped
Supposed to be the same guy.

90's baw. Didn't you hear Elastica playing?

Besides, she was off-planet during the Battle of New York.

It’s a great movie, but the biggest continuity problem with WS was Nick Fury was supposedly killed, which started the whole chain of events. That certainly would have raised alarms for Tony and likely even brought him to DC, especially when Cap became the suspect that Shield was going after.

The others being away I think are understandable.

As for Avengers, looking back, The Sorcerer Supreme staying out of the battle of New York when she’s like a mile away in The Village is pretty unrealistic.

I understand the oath is protecting the time stone, but the Chitari taking over the city and eventually the planet certainly puts the security of the stone in jeopardy.

I guess she could have used the stone to see if they succeeded or not though, so maybe she knew she wasn’t needed.

I didn’t exactly like the explanation and thought it was lazy even by comic book standards. “Slowed my heart down to one beat per minute”.

Buddy, that’s essentially dead and necrosis begins. You’re not breathing. Your brain is without oxygen. That’s brain dead. If you’re going to hook him up to a breathing machine, I could buy the coma routine somewhat…

She kind of struck me as a “leave me alone” type and “last involved”.

In Endgame, Banner had to essentially beg and plead for her involvement. It wasn’t until she was told Strange surrendered the Stone willingly was she convinced something else was afoot.

I could completely buy her sitting around the the WV drinking tea and doing yoga.

Why doesn’t Batman just always call Superman?

Agreed. Hulk should have been a more integrated banner-beast. Should have been an angry but controlled, huge smashy Bruce. Not the shirt-wearing coffee-sipping thing we got.

IMO, it’s really only noticeable in Winter Soldier and Iron Man 3. Those are huge events that just go unnoticed? Even Thor 2 seems like it should’ve gotten someone’s attention.

Yep- the Mandarin's media-hijacking, with the stated message of going after America and the President would have immediately been priority #1 for Cap and SHIELD. And they definitely wouldn't have just stopped, saying "oh, Tony's got this", especially after it looked like he DIDN'T.

So- perhaps we could say Tony had the better intel, while SHIELD and Cap chased their tails, and allowed the Prez to get kidnapped.

But if that's the case, how is Tony NOT hacking into SHIELD and getting wind of things, after Fury is "killed" and Cap becomes a fugitive? How is he not arriving on the scene at least by the time the carriers are in the air?

Iron Man 3's story should've been a Captain America movie and not Iron Man honestly.

Dealing with international terrorism, super soldiers and presidential kidnapping plus the Red White and Blue Iron Patriot team up..just switch Mandarin out for Baron Strucker or some other Cap villain..it fits him more.

She knew she wasn't needed. She knew who she was going to give the stone to at that point even before he showed up. They sort of explain it in Endgame.
She didn't look past her death though and know that Strange needed to give stone away.

Took place in the 90's and she was bouncing around different planets in the mean time. Once Thanos killed off half the universe and Fury sent her a message she came back to Earth
