Man I feel terrible for you.

I consistently see Killmonger atop the list of best MCU villains but he is no different than the vast majority of MCU villains that have come before him.
He doesn’t have to be your favorite, but this is almost blatantly false.
Killmonger was a great villain because he was so relatable. You could understand his perspective and kind of sympathize with his motive. Most of the “want to destroy Earth to for power” villains from the MCU suck because they lack depth. Killmonger has depth to his character.

The frick? He was great in that movie. I wish they would have *spoiler* kept him alive.
He was uneven at best. Delivery was inconsistent and felt forced, like he was reading off of cue cards. And I understand he was from a different place so his speech and everything would be out of place in Wakanda, but he literally responded to everything with “Nah” while doing that stupid head tilt thing. Just seemed really informal for the situation, and for a Naval academy graduate and military leader or whatever he was. It’s like the writers couldn’t decide if they wanted him to be the urban kid from Oakland or the trained and formal military leader that he was. It was somewhere in the middle and that was a mistake.
ETA: And the upvotes/downvotes show that its pretty split, so mine is at least a common opinion

This. And he was right in the end, to a degree, was he not? Those are the best villains.

He was a military killer not a leader and he seems exactly like that.

Tomorrow afternoon I will check out Infinity Wars. Hopefully that one is better.
I’m not boasting when I say it’s the best Marvel movie. The stakes needed to be raised. They were. Thanos is an incredible villain. Won’t spoil anything but RDJ was great and Hemsworth had some nice moments.

Bottom line, Black Panther is a decent and somewhat entertaining comic book film but hardly worthy of the praise it has received since its release.
This. There was nothing about it that was any better than all of the other midrange meh comic book movies.

This has to be the most discussed Marvel movie on this board. I don't think it's even close. There seems to be a thread discussing it every week or so.

Agree buddy.
The movies are lifeless white bread.

shite was bad. I want my money back.

I thought it was really good. Only real complaints were the spells of godawful CGI

I haven't seen it yet, I think I'll wait for some rainy evening when nothing else is on
It's a fricking comic book movie. Just like Star Wars, it's supposed to be action, heroic deeds, and lots of cool effects.
When the character doesn't appeal to me in general, and most honest reviews say the effects are bad, then it isn't high on my list of watches.

It was a mid level MCU movie, which is to say it is definitely worth seeing, but not one of the best.

I disagree wholeheartedly. Wanting revenge on Wakanda, I can 100% relate to him. Post NYC and the introduction of aliens into their universe, and you want to kill all white people? Sounds pretty ignorant imo. That's just from someone on Team Earth at this point in the story. I would hope color wouldn't be a problem/priority at this point in their story. If this movie was prior to NYC, I could agree with you.

Guardians Vol. 2, Ragnarok, Civil War and Infinity War are all incredible movies and some of the best I've seen this decade TBH.
The best MCU movies are the most fun and rewatchable movies out there. They’re perfect comic book movies.
