I think this is the case. There's some anonymous blog out there that people debate having varying degrees of reliability. Supposedly a lot of the Hollywood bullshite that comes out can be linked to anonymous posts on the site with the benefit of hindsight. I can't think of what it's called, or verify its accuracy.

Also, MacFarlane likes to throw a bunch of shite at the wall and hope it sticks.
