There has been no point in my life where I've talked more about a movie I've never seen and had no intention of seeing than you have the last year for this one

Half Colombian = white when convenient for argument, Latina when convenient for another argument

there are dozens of people in this thread that have been talking about this snow white movie for 4 years. my first post about this movie was February of this year. some here have been going on about it constantly since 2023. you only discuss me because I won't join your circle jerk.

Okay, my point is that someone who has no investment in this whatsoever thinks you have a serious problem

Yet you’ve been wrong about everything related to performance…
Remember this gem
quote:
Disney+ costs more so unless Disney doesnt plan on putting Snow White on there after its theater run your subscription cost point is moot. Snow White cost 270 million. Will make 300+ million in theaters.
Care to retract based off the estimates one page before that the movie, even after streaming, will lose 115m?

do you know what estimates mean? it's going to make 300+ million in theaters and be added to streaming. Netflix spent $300 million on The Electric State and didn't make anything in theaters and in their opinion it was worth it.
the people coming up with that estimate and Disney+/Netflix's estimation of streaming value is not the same clearly.
Go ahead though and argue more fake math. None of Hollywood accounting is real. They loan the production money at a high interest rate, make up their own expenses, then the production pays back distribution the loan + interest, jacking up the budget for production, catering, equipment rental (that they rent from themselves), etc. they will never show a profit if things go correctly.
Then Disney distribution will roll over the money into loans for new projects before the tax bill comes due.

340million dollar budget and will struggle to hit 400mil. It’s a 200million dollar bomb at least and that’s being very conservative with the numbers.

So, you either recognize that you extend these threads/topics and that simply makes you a hypocrite who requires online clicks to get the endorphins pumping to make it through the day, just like a teenage girl, or you are simply too stupid to recognize that you are basically the sole reason these threads continue.
That about sums it up.
Even with your constant bitching about the state of the M/TV Board, you are one of the top 3 reasons it stays this way.

Haha Hollywood accounting isn't some new phenomenon. They claimed they never made money on The Return of The Jedi. Do you believe that as well?

Did you know that Return Of The Jedi made a loss? Incredibly it is still making a loss. Despite having earned $475 million in 1983 dollars at the box office against a budget of $32.5 million the movie has never turned a profit. It is officially still a loss-making movie. That is with a box office take worth $1,340,393,235 today.

– Understanding Hollywood accounting practices
Hollywood accounting refers to the creative and often opaque methods used by film studios to manage and report the finances of big-budget movies. These practices can make profitable films appear unprofitable on paper. This is achieved through a variety of strategies, such as inflating expenses and using complex distribution deals.
One common tactic is the allocation of high distribution fees, which are often paid back to the studio itself. For instance, Warner Bros. reportedly spent $212 million on such fees for a single film, effectively reducing the reported profits ([source](LINK These fees can include marketing expenses, which are sometimes exaggerated to lower the net profit.
Additionally, studios may use overhead charges, interest on loans, and payments to affiliated companies to further diminish the apparent profitability of a film. These charges are internal transactions that keep the money within the studio's ecosystem but reduce the film's reported earnings. This practice benefits the studio by minimizing the amount they owe to profit participants, such as actors and directors who have negotiated a share of the net profits.
Overall, Hollywood accounting practices are designed to maximize the studio's financial control while minimizing payouts to stakeholders. This complex financial shell game makes it challenging to determine the actual profitability of big-budget films. Understanding these practices is crucial for anyone involved in the film industry or interested in its financial workings.

You’re conflating different things. Accounting for it for tax purposes is different than actual revenue and actual profitability

no. they also manipulate budgets and costs with distribution fees, loan fees, etc.
It's all a numbers game. They want the money to go to the studio, not the individual productions. they owe less to investors if the movie doesn't earn as much profit.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix lost money according to the studio. If you actually believe these people you are seriously gullible. If the studio owns the services they are renting out to the production, they can make the numbers look as high as they want or as low as they want.
If you wanna say the movie is gonna lose money, thats one thing. trying to cite a number they are gonna lose is pointless though.

This should have been a billion dollar movie.
Breaking even...even for tax purposes... is basically a loss.

Perhaps I should have clarified...you seem to post in every thread I read. I don't read every one.
They all seem to take a negative turn when you arrive.
I know...it's what you live for.
