They do maybe one or sometimes no political sketches, like they’ve done for literally their entire existence. I watch every episode. And the ones they do are pretty spot on and sometimes funny. I don’t think the show is great, but I still watch for nostalgia I guess.

They do political sketches every week, ultra leftist weekend update exists, and there is generally leftist bullshite in the opening monologue. Come on, man.
The only time they attempt to "shy away from politics" is when a conservative-leaning person is hosting.

You know Alec Baldwin will be there every week with another tired, low hanging fruit, not funny Trump impersonation.

Ehhh. They definitely lean left with their political takes on weekend update, but Jost and Che have been one of the few bright spots on the show since it lost its way around 2016.

They have a cast member that does a way better Trump impression and he didn't shoot somebody either.

I know the george washington skit got a lot of praise when Nate was on there before. But I absolutely loved the Chef skit. That was absolutely hilarious.

Roooad,
You’re advocating you’d watch a late night sketch comedy show bc you want to bang a 76 year old woman who is appearing on it?
Posted on 9/25/24 at 7:40 am to CovingtonTigre
I would watch Nick's, is all I'm sayin

James Austin Johnson does the best Trump impression I've seen. The skit during the GOP primary debates where he came out and roasted each of his opponents was one of the funniest bits they've had in recent years.

SNL hosts for first five weeks of 50th season
Why the hell wouldn't they invite all the former greats to be hosts?
Sandler, Rock, Ferrel, Murphy, Spade, etc...
The entire 50th should be former greats as the hosts
