Not only that, which is 100% true, but the whole premise of the movie is two guys bootlegging Coor’s beer from Texas to Georgia.

Though not technically illegal to possess, most on here of a certain age probably don’t realize that Coors Brewing didn’t have distribution nor commercial licensing rights for its products east of Texas until after 1986.

I remember my brother was in the Marines and stationed in Orange County California and drove back when his duty was done there with a couple cases and was the first time seen by us in Louisiana.

Mainly because it was not pasteurized. For a long time Coors was advertised as always being cold from the time it was bottled.

It wasn't distributed to states east of the Mississippi River, so it was available in Louisiana.

Couldn’t buy it in Baton Rouge for a while even though you could get it other places.
Had to settle for Olympia.

I remember being a young kid and my Dad and Parran saying that line and laughing my arse off. Had no clue where it came from till I was a little older. Watched part 1&2 recently and heard a few more things I remember them saying back then as well.

Trucking in the 70s, whenever I was out west, my dispatcher would want me to bring back a case of Coors to Indiana

Me and several buddies had an agreement to make similar beer runs to supply our friends in south Texas with Yuengling. It was not available in Texas until 2021.

East Bound and Down was a frequent staple of my playlist on the drive back.

Let’s take the conversation somewhere that Hollywood might consider.

If Smokey and the Bandit were to be rebooted , who would be cast in the lead roles:

Bandit: Pedro Pascal, Tony Dalton (Better Call Saul)
Buford T Justice: John Goodman
Frog: Aubrey Plaza, Mila Kunis
Cledus: Chris Pratt?
Junior: the guy that played Phil Dunphy on Modern Family
The car: ?????
