Sorry, I misinterpreted it.

But to be fair, in some ways, Pamela has had a more prosperous career than Tim Allen.

Yeah, this OP is really confusing for a true discussion and has moving goalposts.

Easily, IMO:
Pratt > Poehler - And most know this was my tGOAT comedy. Poehler has a great career too IMO.
Glover > McHale - And I am a fan of McHale as well.

It's too easy, because they've not on the same playing field as others.

OP needs to watch Parks and Rec, Community. IMO.

Dude what? Krasinski and Helms aren’t in the same area code as Carrells resume

I would say Ed O'Neill has been a bigger star by far.

This is kinda cheating but you can say 8 Simple Rules since John Ritter died and Kaley Cuoco went on to do Big Bang Theory

Don't "discuss" then.

You are correct. I am not sure how I typed RS instead of Moonlighting.

Not to mention that the topic was "Sitcom".

He might be worth more money, but Christina Applegate has become a leading lady in Hollywood. I'd be willing to bet if you had a movie poster with their 2 pictures and no title, more people would go to her movie just off of recognition alone.

I still think Ed would be more recognizable. He was the lead in 2 hugely successful sitcoms each spanning 10+ seasons.

How many actors have that type of success?

Katey Sagal had good runs on Futurama and Sons of Anarchy. I would say she's done better as well.

If we're going by TV careers, I give it to Ed O'Neil.

If it's film, it's Applegate.

Both have done well.

I don't put Katey Sagal above either of them.

How much success has she had as a lead on the big screen?

I'd argue she's still done her best work and had more awards for her TV work.

She was a lead in both Anchorman movies. I apologize if I am shortchanging Ed, but the only thing I recall him in was Little Giants.

He wasn't lead in any of those movies

He is more realistic in your scenario

Also basing off of box office isn't fair. Carrell can have any job he wants and chose to do more independent films. He is still an A-list star that movie companies desire. Helms not so much. Krasinski maybe but it's more even than you are making it out to be.

Damn, Nathan Fillion was on there as a supporting role too. You can say he's been more successful than the other 2 leads.

That was my first thought as well but Ryan Reynolds' character was one of the stars. Nathan Fillion's character, however, wasn't introduced until Season 2 and didn't become a mainstay until Season 3.

So the correct answer for that show is "Nathan Fillion".

Both of Ricky Schroeder's friends on Silver Spoons (Jason Bateman and Alphonso Ribero) ended up having a better career than him.
