Surely y'all LOL'ed when the Day 1 Dude that got thrown on the board to vote was shaking his head "no".

I've only watched this season ... but, I enjoyed it.

It's like Entourage of Geeks.

I was so caught up in the GOT talk here I missed some, but typical finale, things look one way and go the other.

Pied Piper is still a Billion dollar company.

real time notes:

"yes, but for ordinary reasons" [dismissive hand gesture]

"i jack off a little bit. i don't cum"

"and yes i'm jacking off but i don't need to ejaculate"

"richard don't weaponize my faith in you against me"

the design guy with gavin

gavin's statue with the sheep

"no no my lawyer is in jail"

serious erlich was a great change

jared on the bed with richard was AMAZING. copying the hand and "Frick"? o-m-g

"she knows 400 satanists in Boston?"

"that's ironic...no for real i'm aksing"

i figured Erlich was going to get to be CEO with how this unfolded

"i'm going to let him have this one". poor jin yang

this show always makes me want to brush up on my M/A and corporate law, b/c a lot of stuff they use for moving the plot or creating conflict just don't seem to add up, like the liquidation thing this episode. i need a corporate guy to explain to me how richard loses all of his interest in the company when it's sold to another. i guess they sell 100% of the shares and he just doesn't get to recoup anything until the VC get paid back

also i think Richard (as CEO) would have stink but not the company. their products/IP are still worth something

at the very least they could compete in the "box market"

Richard sold first right of refusal to Russ
Russ sold it to Laurie
Laurie used it on bachmann
Laurie used it again tonight
Bachmanity owns it now

My guess

that's selling individual shares, though. richard owns his shares, and if he wanted to sell, the company has the first option to buy before anyone else. this liquidation is basically forcing richard to sell his shares. we need a M/A person to explain this

Without having a copy of the contract we have no way of knowing. Maybe all shares reverted to Raviga in the contract they originally did Peter if they defaulted or didn't meet some minimums

Reddit will probably have the answer

Just watched on my lunch break. Feels nice seeing them hit a high note instead of the first 2 seasons where they were constantly getting gut punched.

I may have missed this...but it seems liek PP is now about to focus on the video chat application. What happens with the middle out compression now? Do they still focus on that? Also will they get any backlash legal or otherwise stemming from the inflated daily active user numbers?

And now that Gavin bought the tech blog to keep her elephant story quiet, what do we think Gavin plans to do with it? Surely this will come into play again at some point rihgt?

ironic that Gavin's money for the Tech Blog is the money that was used to purchase Pied Piper from Raviga blocking Gavin's bid

Is that ironic?

I'm asking.

Certainly seems ironic.

All setting the table for season 4. The video chat taking off kinda clears the way for the platform to get into normal peoples' hands in a non-terminator way. It's the tangible application they had been looking for. Gavin will undoubtedly use the blog to extort them in some way.

Overall the finale was good but not great. They bit off a bit more than they could chew in the last couple episodes plot-wise and had to wrap it all up. With 22 min episodes, they didn't have much time to just be funny. Will certainly be looking forward to next season.

I really want to see the company take off. I want to see the dynamic change. The "on the verge of greatness" deal has been fun, but I'd like to see something else done. It's close to getting stale IMO. I want to see them have a ton of money to play with. I want to see how they deal with suddenly having a massive company. I'd like to see them have to deal with a small start up that is a thorn in THEIR side.

that's a great angle.

I imagined that if they hit it big, all made millions, and everything was peachy there wouldn't be much of a show left. But them turning into the big boys and fighting off the litte guy like they once were would be a great storyline to follow.

So they bought the blog to keep Gavin from finding out that Bighead broke his confidentiality agreement. Now Gavin owns the blog, what if he finds out about the broken agreement. Bighead essentially owns half of Pied Piper now, could Gavin come after the company that way?
