What is Richard's %? I guess I should have asked: Richard's % is unchanged, right? And the board can't vote for him to have less (outside of accepting dilutive new equity infusions)...right?

No. Raviga is.

Richard is still the majority shareholder, but Raviga has more board seats since that Bitch Monica sold Richard out to keep her job.

But you can tell the writers know the formula is getting tiring, by the way it took so long for them to get beers, lemons, get another lemon, Erlich getting lemon juice in his eye, etc. That was actually pretty funny how long they drew it out.

I was about to say, you guys do know they were being funny by purposley drawing it out in a ridiculous manner.

BTW did Danish say the ferret diddled that lemon

Yeah it was. I even caught myself going "Wait, did he just say verbal SWOT analysis?"

Here's my theory: Gavin Belson will get bounced by Hooli. He will be brought in as Pied Piper's CEO, because he understands the system and he knows how to run a business. Richard isn't going anywhere, I mean he developed the software and he owns a chunk of the company. So the humor in the next season will come from Gavin and Richard, Gilfoyle, Dinesh, Erlich and Jared all trying to work together.
The beauty of this show is that it has always kept us guessing. What we likely think will happen usually doesnt. Thats the theory the writers probably want us thinking, but will come up with something clever to throw us off.

I think they would have just fired her and added someone else right. It wasnt her spot it was the company's spot. So her voting him out and stay on probably most beneficial thing

I think it was her spot. hanneman only got two spots, which raviga bought, but since Monica had one as an independent director they were able to vote as a majority.

No doubt. I always assumed Monica was a proxy for the company she works for. I don't think she had any choice in the matter. She has always looked out for Richard and PP so I don't think this would change things. She also knows that sometimes taking less has been good for PP. Remember the first round of funding episode. They took less and it seems to work.

This could be that. He has more time to work on the algorithm than running a business. Just bring in someone good as CEO and it works out for everyone. Richards shares are worth more and he still has creative rights as lead tech type person.

I didn't think they owned any shares before they bought Hanneman's, so they wouldn't have a seat.

I thought Monica personally owned shares of PP, wouldn't that allowed her to have a spot on the board independent of the company ?

It's too much bad. You can't just keep fricking these guys over. It's stale and will be the demise of the show.

They were initial investors so they owned shares to begin with but had one vote on the board but Richard said that Monica voting that spot was part of the deal. I would assume that they have a spot that Monica must vote, not sure what would happen if she was fired, if she would keep the vote or if it would break contract or if the vote would just go back to Raviga.

there was an episode mid season when they hired the new coders that the girl trolled Gilfoyle and Dinesh about having more shares than them. I think she said she got 10% and they said that was twice what they had so that would put both at 5%. I think they said that Erlich had 10 or 20% for incubating Pied Piper but no clue what anyone else would have.

Yeah I don't think I'll watch season 3. Its not even that they're the modern day tech versions of the biblical Job. Its that they're absolute idiots about every decision they make.

I thought the whole thing with the lemons for the beer and the constant delay before delting PP was an overt breaking of the 4th wall to acknowledge the viewers' complaints on this sort of thing.

And even after that sort of "win", they still go on to lose at the end

Personally I thought it was intentionally drawn out and funny (on the part of those still at the house). Them bitching about a wheat beer without a lemon and then getting the right lemon was perfect.

Erlich has 10 for sure, I think Richard has 60-80 ( I wanna say 60) and the rest is split between the others.
