Took my sons to see the movie, and of course they had to make one of the orphans gay. My son leans over to me and asks, “why do they have to make everything gay?” Good question, it didn’t do anything for the storyline. It’s getting exhausting trying to find something these days that doesn’t have woke crap in it.

A quick google says 7.1% of US citizens are LGBTQ.
So make 7.1% of characters in movies LGBTQ.
Done.
But they won't do that will they? That's WAY too low to support THE MESSAGE.

I think a lot of people accept that gay people exist and aren't bothered by that. What they are bothered by is every piece of entertainment screaming in your face about it.

IMDB lists 18 "top cast". One of them is gay. Want to do the math on that?

Yep.
The wife and I watch A Million Little Things. We started it back when it first began and we were looking for something along the lines of This is Us. In the last 3 seasons it has gone full steam over the Woke Cliff.
25% of the characters are gay, including side characters where it's really irrelevant. With no end in sight. This is the last season, so we will finish it out, but it's insulting.

Having a gay doesn't make a show "woke".
Making gay the focus could.

I used to watch MLThings too.
I loved it at the beginning.
But when Covid hit and they forced actors in the show to wear masks.....and blasted people IN A TV SHOW to put on your mask.
NOW....they turned a main character gay too? I have been out for years.....its all forced BS.

But if only a single character in the entire movie was gay. Then wouldn't that be on brand for accurate percentages.

I agree with you except for the "doubt" part. These companies have lost the benefit of the doubt with me.

But if a person in the movie that is gay and simply existing, as every other character. Are they actually screaming in your face about it?

Was the character being gay a central part of his storyline, and was that storyline a central part of the movie?
Having gay people simply exist in a movie doesn't mean the movie is automatically woke, imo.

Yep, Grace Park's character is now a lesbian.
Now to be clear, I'm not totally opposed to it since she's hotter than a three dollar pistol.
But her lover has a chin like Jay Leno.

Yep. I believe IMO a lot of times the press for these movies taints them because that usually is what tries to make things like sexuality and gender or muh diversity central to these movies when maybe it isn't. So it puts that perception out there before the movie ever comes out. It doesn't help that a lot of times the actors or actresses play into these kind of things as well even when it's not the intention of the film makers.
That said there are also plenty of people involved in making entertainment content explicitly saying they have an agenda.
