This is India Oxenberg's (Daughter of Catherine Oxenberg) doc series on her participation in the NXIVM cult and the DOS sex ring that was a secret division of the main cult.
We watched The Vow on HBO Max (which dragged on way too long). Oxenberg's series is getting to the dark stuff way quicker and deeper. The Vow seemed to gloss over the pedophilia teachings and the wife swapping, probably so that the people interviewed looked less guilty for staying with the cult as long as they did.
Hoping that Oxenberg's series will include the trial. The Vow saved the entire trial process for a future second season.
And yes, Allison Mack is insane.

I went down that rabbit hole a bit after binging "Battlestar" during the early days of lockdown.
Interesting the way that cults work.
People have a desire to believe...can be used against them to their detriment. shite like this sounds like what would happen if Scientology took that "next step."

I watched The Vow and wish I had not. Needed editing to about 3 or 4 hours, tops. And then they say look forward to season 2. Screw that.
I hear this Starz show is much better, but it’s gonna take time before the stink of The Vow wears off and lets me get into it.
None of that program would have worked on me. Those workshops the people paid to attend are the kind of psycho-babble shite I absolutely despise. They would have had to pay me, a lot, to attend.

I liked the Vow, but yeah it was a 3 episode series that was stretched way too far. Also, I get that the head guy isn't a great person and should be in jail; however, it seemed like the Vow tried to take away all agency from Mack and the other women in top positions.

This really should be a much larger story than it is. I went down the rabbit hole on this last week and was up the whole night. It’s all way crazier than I knew. Also every one of these people is a Biden voter. You can get mad and down vote but you know it’s true. People need to start asking themselves why prosperous, intelligent white people chase these things so hard- Scientology, this bullshite, Progressivism, etc.
