Is this the only show in TV history that at least some of the same cast has participated in that’s 25 years between 1st season and last season?

I know some soaps went a long time but were any cast members on a show 25 years from first to last?

Maybe the Roseanne reboot?

It’s really incredible. Scrubs started in 2001. It’s 2026 with lot of the same cast.

Just need a FNL reboot now.

Anyone else feel like the first 2 episodes were great followed by an immediate drop off? The ones that have followed have been kind of shite… like they focused all their attention on a great first two episodes and then ran out of ideas.

I thought Ep 4 was the most Scrubs episode of the bunch. Felt like a Season 3 level of being in the stride of the show.

I do agree we need a character with big male energy.

Glad they got rid of overly ambitious bisexual Asian guy and they are keeping the big gay black charge nurse and his side kick in very very small parts.

ETA: actually I think a case study could be done on the difference between the initial 4 seasons and the initial season of the restart. Cox being the big male energy totally absent from this show is indicative of the absence of big male energy in the workplace. And whether that’s a good thing. Comedically, I would say it’s definitely missing though the show is still good. Corporate and culturally? I don’t know.

I thought episode 4 was classic scrubs. I wouldn’t have noticed the difference if it aired season 1-8.
I was laughing out loud during the opening fantasy sequence. The interns are getting better each episode. What’s even more impressive these 4 episodes is that we barely have cox and Carla and It feels like it hasn’t missed a beat so imagine when both come back with the janitor and Jordan etc later on this season how much better it will even be

That’s exactly how I feel. Halfway through the episodes I said you can’t even tell difference between old ones and them. Style is the same. I love how they subtly integrate new technology into the episodes. I definitely feel it’s missing Dr Cox however.

Also wow didn’t realize the Asian guy was missing. The interns have improved as well.

They went back to early scrubs jd and Turk though which is nice.

Jd early on was nerdy and not a jock but had the want to be cool like Turk and the surgeons. Their relationship though was very close but normal.

Late season jd was absurdly effeminate and him and Turk were like a homosexual couple.

Also though they specifically pointed out his “good relationship” with the current janitor which seems like obvious they will bring back Dr. Jan Itor very soon to counter act.

The only issue I had with the 4th episode was their exchange about one being alone all the time and one being too busy. With a friendship as close as they are/were... You would expect JD helping Turk get his kids to soccer and things like that. Did they really drift that far apart?

They lived hours apart. That would be difficult to do

Lisa Gilroy is guest starring tonight. The comedian who was on shrinking last week.

So good to have scrubs back

I loved JD and Elliot together at the end series, but coming back I much rather them just be friends and co parents and each date other people. Carla and Turk will and always be the power couple.

Yep. I've also really liked stuff that Lisa Gilroy is in, so this episode was a welcome surprise.

The new show definitely has the same vibe. I like that they took a plot point from an earlier season episode and revisited it from a different perspective (fitness bro experiencing scurvy vs the early season episode about the malnutritioned girl with the eating disorder). It was great at showing how Elliot had grown and how she tries to learn from her past mistakes and from how Dr. Cox’s treatment effected her.

We are starting to see the interns backstory and it's helping the show so much. Blake and his troubled past and the cute surgeon and the english doctor awkwardly flirting. Dr Park just seemed like an a-hole to JD but we now know that him and Turk and carla were friends for years before JD showed back up. Can't wait to see his progression. That terrible SNL girl is so much better from the pilot. The nurses are starting to slowly get into the Lavergne role even if it isn't the same. This is all while they will slowly sneak all the side and main characters from the first 8 seasons on us the next 4 episodes. They are honestly doing a brilliant job in these first 5 episodes. It could have gone so much worse as majority of revivals do.

The last 10 minutes was an emotional nostalgia classic scrubs especially with the song. I don't know how they do it. Lisa played a perfect JD episode girlfriend and ended up with the flashback to Elliot and him in bed in season 1 with the pizza. I don't think he necessarily is wanting Elliott back in that moment he just realizes that this crazy gen z girl isn't what he's looking for.
